a) less bouncy, not wandering all around the place, much more planted.
b) cost was around 25k if I remember correctly as I bought the Gypsy with it. My friend had done the mods.
c) all 4 were changed

This would be the single most important mod after the AC that makes a Gypsy a better place to be in.

Heard of the fibre leaf springs breaking but that would again be only under extreme offroading. No personal experience with those.

I would stay away from CFLs if I were you. This does look interesting though - a combo of Ironman leaf springs + shocks!

Their list of vehicles and brands (on the link to the site you sent) don't include the Maruti Gypsy...it does include Mahindra as a brand and the Suzuki Vitara, Jimny etc.
Saying that, I don't mind visiting them but Im guessing this is a big expensive game - at least another 25K to be spent here...
For now, Im thinking of just changing all my existing leaf springs to brand new ones and perhaps adding one more leaf at the rear as recommended by the garage.

Saying that I m keeping an open mind - if Ironman is really going to make such a big difference then I can consider it, but the cost will also probably be ten times more than the stock leaf springs and shocks...

should be more, get in touch with Zac, he answers promptly and will give honest feedback. But if this is not going to be your primary drive, you can continue with existing probably.

That is because this is an Australia based firm and there are no Gypsies there.

So I spoke to Zac today. He has recommended going for the combo - leaves as well as shocks, as the combo works much better than just going for one of these. Now comes the shocker - the set would cost somewhere in the range of 80K So, plans on hold for now!!

By the way Cool_dube, the Maruti Gypsy is available in New Zealand and is called as the Suzuki Farm worker...

I havent seen any in Rural Australia though and I havent heard or read of the Gypsy's availability in Australia.

You are right. Just checked out the Suzuki NZ site and our beloved Gypsy is very much available there as the Farm Worker. Check this link out. Interestingly, while the lettering on the bonnet reads SUZUKI (as opposed to MARUTI here in India), the logo is MARUTI's! Looks like they forgot to replace it with a SUZUKI logo before loading it up for export.

For good ride you can try a combo of CFL and bilstiens also. Stick to soft version of CFL and not race/rally version. As long as one is doing normal trail drives, CFL's are pretty much safe. Extreme offroad and modifications (SPOA) etc is where it might have issues. Might work out cheaper also, though iron man kit is super comfy, though price is steep.

A friend from Kerala and an avid off-roader had used this in his gypsy. I have seen it perform in few of the events also. He swears by the comfort factor and on-road stability it provides, unfortunately I don't think he is a member here.

One thing you can do is check with Zak if he can put you across to someone running these and maybe have a short spin in one of them.
