In the beginning of the thread, you had mentioned that you had resotoration to Bug(s) and could claim that you were good at restoring the bugs and that you had no idea on why the owner called you to restore his Willys.

Who else but you? The jeep is just amazing. Not sure what it means to the owners, am sure it means something or everything, I dont know, but can imagine the sleep less nights and the passion you have put into WillyBoy.

The person who has sent it to you has made the best decision. How would you feel when giving it back?

I felt really happy for the jeep, to have come out well. I had infact got too much attached to it over the past 2 months.

After the delivery last week, the next 3 days i spent searching for the Willyboy at the workshop:)

I wish he finds a nice owner.

This restoration was done referring to so many books and articles found on the web, this is what i could best do, Yes i can still improvise . Thank you.

Now i would like to post the final pics after all the stencils were cut according to the exact sizes. This was actually the most complex part during restoration, as there were lot many things to follow the book, Size, Distance and exact alignment. But finally the team did it and here are the results for all you guys to see.

Correct me if i've not followed any other techniques.

You have put 200% effort on this vehicle to get it back it to the factory look.

Pavan where is the ORVM

pavam - Thats a good job that you've done there. I've done some restorations in the past and there still a few going on.. i know it feel great when something you've put alot of effort into comes out just as u wanted.
Just a few suggestions and questions-
1) Is the front grill original?
2)Stuff that i've noticed your missing - handbrake lever, windscreen clamps, trailer socket, an end fitting into which the hood frame slides into (sits right behind the front seats)
3) Everyones already mentioned the fact that the length is in weight
4) small picky stuff that might be worth doing - Exhaust is in the wrong place, and the paint in some places could do with a touch up, also the glovebox had a button to open it and not a lock.
5)Lastly most of the body actually had canvas (i think) between panels. i see you've used rubber - how about changing those?

Overall i can see you have put a really good effort into the Jeep. Well done. If you need, i can send you some photos of the jeeps restored at my place.

In the beginning I was thinking the Jeep in question was a Ford GPW, but got my answer as the Willy's Post 1942 adopted designs of the Ford, like the sunk in head lights and also the grill. The older Willys came with a curved grill near the head lights similar to the Kaiser.

The curved grill near the headlight was found on the later civilian versions jeeps to accommodate the headlamp rings. The jeep restored by Pavan is a Willys MB.
The Willys MB and Ford GPW were made from 1942-45 and came with headlamps recessed in the grille.
The larger headlamps (7") were introduced with the first civilian jeep, the CJ2A, which was put into production in 1945. The grille was also changed with seven slots instead of the nine slots found on the WWII jeeps and the curved indents for the larger lamps.
