Sadly apparently the FJ Cruiser is not made in RHD, otherwise many would have been imported in directly by now. Also the OGL if I understand correctly applies to cars costing 40k USD and above. The FJ is about 22k. Major hurdle is the non avail of RHD. Its my dream machine. Do I see some trail edition FJ's in the pictures? Needless to say the FJ is winning a lot of fans the world over and will soon become legendary in its prowess not to mention thanks in great part to Toyota's phenomenal depth of experience in offroaders

Is your car equipped with the rear diff lock and the front TC (do they call it ATRACS?)

Welcome, FJ-man. THE best and most versatile dual-use vehicle in the market today, without doubt!

There is only one AbuDhabi registered FJ in that, so it has to be the 45117 number plate.

Hi All.

Thanks for all the interest in the FJ.

This is one of the most popular off roader in the US and the UAE today. Here in the UAE we even have our own FJ Club and organise outing every alternate weekends.

The FJ is availabe in two configurations. Both share the same Toyota 1GR- FE four OHC V6. Bore is 94 mm and stroke is 95 mm. Output is 236 hp (176 kW) at 5200 rpm with 266 lb·ft (361 N·m) of torque at 4000 rpm on 87 octane, and 239 hp (178 kW) at 5200 rpm with 278 lb·ft (377 N·m) at 3700 rpm on 91 octane. This engine features Toyota's VVT-i, system and a compression ratio of 10.0:1. Top speed is mechanically limited to 180 KMPH.

The difference between the base and the top of the line modle is the availability of traction control ( A- Trac ), rear diff lock, parking sensors and remote start.

It is the most capable off road vehicle available due to its great power to weight ratio. Its rugged and agressive look keeps people out of your path.

There are a few TRD & Trails Team limited edition versions here which were imported from the US.

Also there are a few with TRD supercharged engines which are simply awsome. The fuel economy is out of the window though but with petrol at 6.25 Dirhams a gallon it is well worth the added driving pleasure.

I have gone in for a 3" suspension lift, JBA headers, AFE cold air intake and TRD throttle body spacer.

The result is probably a 35 BHP increase in output with negligible effect on fuel consumption.

Below are some pics of the engine bay. Will post more off road pic of my FJ. It is the Abu Dhabi Reg 45117 car oposted earlier.

Also attached are pictures of a Black FJ with the TRD supercharged engine, TRD lift Kit and TRD rims.

The last pic shows the Black TDR special edition Cruiser and the white one is a Trails Team Limite edition version.
