The pivot needs to bushing mount with soft conical and hard radial rate.

Sir, what is the best gearbox suited to MM540 xdp engine ?
i PMed you for snorkel head, safari type sir. can i get one ?
what diff ratios can make the mm540 a highway cruiser ? 47/11 ? or anything better than that...my mm540 now runs on 44/9.
Your suggestions highly appreciated.
Happy Deepawali Wishes.

Honestly nothing can make the MM540 a highway cruiser without a New generation chassis and a more powerful engine.
You should stick to 44/9 ratio. A used 5 spd 4wd mahindra gearbox is insanely difficult to procure and will cost nothing less than 50K!!!

what about transmission & transfer case?
what in case of major overhaul?
Quote:
AFAIK about diesel converted esteems & other cars,
they would get a new used-engine instead of major overhaul because it would cost them more to repair it.

To a large extent, my decision on the 4JG2 engine and the MUA5 transmission was based on the fact that both have formidable reputations as being bullet-proof.
I am quite sure that a major problem in the transmission, will just make me look for a replacement gearbox and not to repair it.
By the way, the gearbox and transfer case are one unit and not bolted on to each other.

Engine and gearbox have been removed.
The Isuzu engine is lighter, shorter and more compact than the Scorpio.
The MUA5 gearbox is 3.5" shorter than the NGT530, Borg Warner combo.
The 4JG2 engine is 1.5" shorter than the Scorpio engine
