Project MM550. (getting the wicked touch)

The first drive in an MM550 and i loved it, on road and offroad it was an effortless drive. The power of the engine was awasome and i was longing to get one for myself. Today i will fufill my dream with a 1998 model MM550xd. Here are some pictures of the jeep. The pictures are not very clear because i was using my cell camera without any flash.

Hi Wicked Wheels,

Congrats on your second MM550 purchase. Hopefully this too would will get restored into a true offroader. So you going to design the Jeep similar to your earlier rock crawler?

Congrats. The jeep looks in really good condition compared to the standard of a disposal jeep.

That jeep really is in one nice condtion. Lucky you, no ex-fauji wanted a jeep or this sure would have gone to him. Congratulations.
If you thinking big, why not try coil springs and 4 links on this one.

i remember Mahindra posting pic of non army disc version of MM550 XD for Army. So i guess earlier versions of MM550 XD came with normal rims

The Army often replaces 7.50-16 tyres with 6.00-16 NDMS on jeeps used mostly on road. The NDMS tyres last longer and are more cost effective than any of the Indian copies of Michelin XCL/XL such as the MRF Sandgrip.

Yes, i too heard the 7.5x16's, especially the sand tires, last just about 25,000kms. I wish these guys start produding the Simex tires kind of thread on the military jeeps. MRF already produces that thread for the russian armored vehicles(i think about 37" tall) used by the Indian army, so all they have to do is to launch it in a smaller size.

Thanks guys, a little disappointed today as i was soposed to get it today but that did not happened as my friends jeep was not ready with all the fittings. The rims are the standered ones but we convinced the guy to give us the other ones. Thats another reason for not getting it today. The guy is giving us the 16" rims with the sand tyres.
Sorry bigman i could not get the pictures of the showel fitment today ill do that as soon as i get the jeep.

Sorry guys the two jeeps thing is too much for my pocket to handle not a rich guy the Wicked offroader is getting a new owner the deal is not yet finalised but might be done in a day or two. I would loved to keep it but my pockets wont let me. Someday i may afford to keep two jeeps then one of them will be a cj3 hi bonnet petrol willys (i have found a spare engine which i may pick up).
