Hi WW,

Nice acquisition man!! Where do you get this one? In Pune? How much you paid for it? Is there another one to grab?

Do you know anybody who is good at mechanicals/engine work in Pune? As I am restoring my 550 in Kolhapur but after that I will be using it on Pune too, so I need anybody who is good in that.

WW, How much did you pick it up for, from the auction directly? looks like its Road worthy, is it?

I actually like the paint job on this Jeep. No harm in keeping the wacky camouflage colors. Just a suggestion.

What is CWD and 41k? Lovely price. How good / Bad is the condition? Another 1.5L to get it road worthy?

+1. But can you? One distinct advantage of the camo paint job is that your friendly neighborhood traffic policeman with the beer belly would not dare come near it.

I would love to keep the camoflage paint job but i dont think you are allowed to do that. As for the cost i paid quiet a bit for it. (1+) . But i dont mind because the engine is in running condition (might get it Overhauled after i check it), the alternator looks new and is working, the nozzels, the injection pump is all there and working, each and every mechinical part (main parts)is fitted on the vehicle noughting is missing so i dont have to run around searching for the parts. The only thing is that i have to overhaul everything that goes without saying and get all new rubber parts and pipes.

Why not? Have you seen the kind of paint jobs guys do on their Swift, Altos and 800s. All are illegal.

All you have to tell a cop if he does stop you, is that its the original paint of the Army vehicle which you got in an auction. I think thats quite a legal and legitimate answer. Thats if they stop you.

However my suggestion leans towards a White/Off White/ Brown etc non conventional paint job.

WW, Also you have not answered my other questions

Hi ironwolf, the jeep is road worthy condition brakes and a lot of little other things have to be sorted out. as for the price i paid it crossed the 1 mark thats for the vehicle and 15K for registration and insurance.

I am not sure of that but the guy i brought it from told me it was picked up in a pune auction.
As for the paint i am thinking of something like a combination of black with camo highlights. lets see what works out.

First set of pictures shows the old paint removed with paint remover and after that the full outer body was cleaned with caustic soda the outcome was amazing, the whole body was gleaming as if was chrome plated.

I am hooked to this thread now. I am waiting for the final outcome. Did you do any mods to the suspension? Can you share the cost of the project.
