Today we went for the offroad testing of my MM550 at a recently cleared land. It has lots of loose mud dunes, ideal for testing the 4x4 system.

But, my test got aborted for couple reasons. When it came back from AC fitment, the blower was blocking the 4WD lever from engaging 4L. So I thought I will test it in 4H. Even that idea failed when we discovered that the FWH was installed incorrectly. So my Jeep refused to work even in 4H. We made a workshop appointment for tomorrow right away.

So the offroad show became entirely about Sachin's Jeep, which has undergone another heart transplant. The DI engine has been replaced by DI turbo.









This is the only incline it couldn't climb, the mud was too loose.

Samurai, can you please enlighten me about how heavy the top is? Also, what was the price and availability?

That's an excellent metal hardtop!! The finishing looks very professional.
Can you share the details about where you got this done & the cost involved?
My friend is looking for a metal HT for his 2WD Invader. Can a metal HT be fabricated for an Invader? Or is it only for Thar & MM540/550?
Also I see from the last pics, that you have removed the snorkel. Any reasons for that?

It is a custom hard top, built on top the body, not removable. So it can be built on any Jeep. It was built at the same Udupi workshop where our Jeeps are serviced. In fact, every avatar of this Jeep is built at the same place. If you look at the first page of this thread, even that version was made here.

How heavy, don't know. It is yet to be weighed. Don't know about the price either, Sachin is yet receive the bill.

Snorkel will be put back soon. The work is not complete.
