Hi team,

Have found a 1999 version Mahindra CL340 CLASSIC. Havent yet tried starting it up etc, but am told that its the original Peugeot engine. The body condition is not too good - rusted and falling apart. What could be a good price to offer? I was thinking 2L - This is in Mumbai I mean. Is 2 Lakhs too less or ok?

I have taken some pictures of course.

Engines can always be fixed, but one needs a good body.
2L is way too high.

BTW is it 4X4?

Yea its a 4X4. Body had some rusting, but its undergoing body work at the moment anyway.

Bhoise, the CJ/CL340 series has already become a classic, pun intended. It is in extreme short supply, so the high price is understandable. So the price is as much as you are willing to pay. You might find odd seller here and there who is unaware of the prevailing demand for the 340, but no well informed owner would sell a 340 for less than 2L if it is in decent shape. Heavily modded or restored ones go for even higher.

This says it all. So 2.50 Lakhs for the CJB 340 I was speaking the other day is a good buy, however others were of opinion that it is a bit too high, as you have mentioned the CJ and Cl 340 are Classics, in all ways. You will win in court too with that statement.

Hi Bhoise,

Please post the pictures for us to ascertain the price that you should pay. Since I am from Mumbai, I can help you for this deal. I have sent you a PM.

Dear boise

I would like to refer to the two posts from the thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...mm-550-xd.html . I think the price is definitely on the higher side.

Reagrds

the price of 2 lakhs is way too high for a CL with rusted body! 1-1.5 lakh is the ideal price as per the description you mentioned!
