Well i would say nothing major other than a few search lights, a regulator kind of a switch for the same, army green paint job all other attachments(if any) are taken off before the gypsy is handed over.

For those of you who love army vehicles...remember their engines and gear boxes undergo the most rigorous punishment at the most exacting terrains .. so you might want to think before you invest your money into them.

(or do you expect army to scrap new one)
i have bought 1990 one (government owned ) at 50k.
so when i say its a gem then just believe me.(or other t-bhp members/gurus)

just add some color ,some tuning, some bling & you are done.

# a question
what do you mean by "Monster Gypsy"
(due to its condition or a bling-bling monster you want to make )

Well that is not the case always. Not all vehicles at all locations face the same situations. In cities like Pune, Bangalore etc where there are army bases the vehicles are used for the officers to move around internally and never see any hardcore action.

In fact the army vehicles are well maintained till they are in use. The problem starts when they are decommissioned.

A little bit or overhauling can bring these vehicles back into good shape (which you will see very soon). Most mechanics are surprised when they hear my engine, it sounds like a new one and starts in a split second.

Once the basic service was done the gypsy was in a decent condition to be driven down to mumbai via the mumbai-pune express way. Was not too sure about the tyres and hence dint try touching the top speed. Did a constant of 85kmph and got a mileage of 15kmpl on the very first run...

Congrats on your purchase, KSM-Vtec, your Gypsy seems to be in an absolutely fantastic condition (judging by the usual condition of auction vehicles). Going by the decorative windshield-wipers, I would say it has been used as a CO's(Commanding Officer) vehicle, and thus would have been maintained/used with extra care. Maybe susan3004 can confirm this.

Congrats once again !

Congrats KSM-Vtech
It surely looks good and atleast this is how you got it from the auction. Vehicles available from junk markets like mayapuri etc are totally worked on. the product that we see are totally different than how they are decommissioned from the army!!!

Any luck with the registration???
