Hey Arka,

Why does your old jeep go to Electra for tuning? You want to go FAAASTT ?

lol... Arka too is now on the 'I wanna go FASTTT' bandwagon but man that thing was fast a couple of weeks back - chennai-mahabs-chennai. The downside - 5 kmpl (ok ill shut up before arka jumps at me now)

It pulls like a locomotive from stand still (had a few sedans running for cover)

Hi Soumya,

Fuel Pump PTN Rs750.

@Vijay 19L = 90Kms
Pulls like a "Locomotive and Sedan's run for cover, sounds like it was misfiring

Regards,

Arka

Hi Jaggu,

You can drive it anytime you are in Chennai.

If the Vibrations is at idling check the following.

i) Engine Idling Speed (600-700Rpm)

ii) Engine Bed/T-Case Bed especially the circular bed which has bolt running through it.

if it is too tight the engine will vibrate on idling

if it is too loose the engine will shudder when switched off.

Also check the Spike Arrestor.

While running the vibrations can be caused by
i) Front Prop-Shaft -- No FWH
ii) Misaligned cross-member (Check if you have the MM540 Type Spacer)
iii) Misaligned Prop-Shaft (UJ not in Phase)
iv) Play in the Differential Pinion
v) Play in the Splined Yoke
vi) Loose Leaf Spring Bolts

Regards,

Arka

Re: Silent, But Violent

Got a chance to drive Arka s violence, this JEEP is really powerful. All the while i felt it was in low range. I felt the torque to be 30%more than the stock hurricanes.

PS, Some how i felt the engine does not rev much, i mean compared to the other hurricanes and even mine .

Arka, throw that FFE and get the original muffler .

Hi Franky,

The Current Tuning is very aggressive for speeds up to 40-50Kmph, hence the low FE.

Previously it was tuned for 50-60Kmph, @ 9Kmpl

The revs may not be evident for few reasons, Valve Clearance/Timing and 28" 6.00X16 Tyres .

If I remove the FFE, I will have to go back to the SOLEX M34PBIC .

Regards,

Arka

PS - Please get me an original muffler which I can replicate

Re: Silent, But Violent

Arka how does tappet clearance matter here?

I felt your timing is slightly advanced , right?

You can give me the webber and always go back to the solex or carter YF.

I am removing my original jeep muffler , it is not in its prime anymore, ill give it to you as a sample.

Scorpio petrol muffler will make a hell lot of difference in the NVH of the hurricane.
