Great work Deepak. Makes great reading and is one of the threads one should refer to when building/restoring a Jeep. Quote:

Infact ideally people across India can source these lists and share here. Lets start a new thread for that. |
Absolutely agree. Great initiative. Have already asked my spares guys to also give me a list with prices, so i can put it up too. Whoever gets the first list may start a new thread and post the list on it. Quote:

I would highly recommend all CJ3B owners to atleast once drive a petrol verison to know what their car's true character is.
I am yet to implement Mr. Dhabhar's recommendation for the fuel regulator, will do it shortly as I suspect the fuel pump pressure is too high and causing the carb to flood when I switch off the engine.
I have also noticed that it helps to place a washer or two in the oil pressure relief valve spring seat to increase oil pressure. | Quote:

Guys, could you both post a video clip of your respective jeeps cranking, idling and then being revved?
It will give us all an idea of what a Hurricane engine should and does sound like. Quote:

I need to change my fuel tank. In your posts, you did mention that you too had problem finding a fuel tank. Any luck? Please share. |
I read on some thread that KAPPCO is a total no no. It is a replica of the Solex but does not work like the Solex. I think it was either UBSji or Behrambhai who had made the statement. Maybe they can elaborate.
My old Solex carb's butterfly has also developed a play. I have given it for repairs to a supposed Solex specialist. Lets see hoe it turns out and what the cost of the repair is. Maybe we can then resurrect our carbs and save them.
Deepak, i was also thinking of putting on tractor tyres on my CJ but then as you said, they are best suited strictly for OTRs. I was thinking of investing in a set of Gypsy rims with Radials for light OTRs where slush is not involved (will there ever be such and OTR? ) and swap them with the NDMS when i would expect to encounter hard core mud and slush. As of now im going to put on & 7:00-16 NDMS.
There is a tyre available with MRF in 6:00-16 calledthe MRF Safari. It is an NDMS with a tread in the contact spot. Check it out.
There is also a Birla BT669 [JEEP TYRE] which is also available in the same size i.e. 6:00-16
Would any of these be a better bet than the Normal NDMS type?
Please let us know after you take a test of these tractor tyres. Did a see a fawn Great Dane and a brown Dobberman in the background?
