Hey Jeepster

Congrats mate. The vehicle looks cool. Use it for a while before you make any mods. The 215 tyres WILL make the steering heavier but you will get used to it over time.

First pics with the 215 geolanders. Noticed an immediate improvement in ride quality. Did not notice any palpable increase in steering effort. In fact from day to day, as the vehicle is driven, the steering effort progressively appears to be improving. Though, its screaming for a thicker steering wheel for better grip.

Accompanied a bunch of bikers for some offroading on a track in Chattarpur. Traction on mud was great. It accelerated through mud and slush with ease. The geolanders made it easy to take sharp turns at speeds nearing 50 kmph (maybe even exceeding it) with ease on a muddy track.

Noticed something peculiar on highway driving though. Got a feeling that the speedometer reading was not true. Was overtaking cars left, right & center at around 65-70 kmph. hard to believe all those cars were crusing along under 65 on a nearly empty DND expressway. Get the distinct feeling the stock gauge is not true. Any thoughts?

I still run my Gypsy with stock tyres. You think Yokohama make a lot of deference?
My Gypsy have'nt got the matel thing standing up on the middle of the bonnet, I wonder what is that for?

Yokohama makes lot of difference.
Since your Gypsy is hard top the metal will not be there in bonnet, In soft top front windshield can be folded and the metal part is to tie windshield and bonnet.

I took delivery of an identical car on the 12th, last week. I stayed with the 205 section Geolandars, that do not do as much for the appearance of the car as the 215s do, I was concerned about adding on to the steering effort for anything other than just looks.
My car has a little glitch that is being addressed - the coolant expansion bottle sited next to the radiator leaks a dribble of coolant from the cap. Maruti is still scratching its head, at first the air hole in the cap was blocked, that was opened, but the coolant still dribbles out of the white cap. In your car, does the bottle cap that is a snap fit on the coolant bottle have any more rubber or some other O ring kind of a thing to make it leakproof? Mine doesn't, though of course, that could be irrelevant.
I haven't done much of driving it yet, but the new tyres do make a noticeable difference soaking up the road joints and other small imperfections in the city, as compared to the Ceats. But that is to be expected anytime one switches from cross ply to tubeless radials.

This is Suzuki Jimny 4x4, Last one from SJ series.
Will Maruti ever going to bring Jimny to India. Always wondered why they didnt.

Here is an another 4x4 model from Suzuki called Vitara. Never touched Indian soil.

I though i saw Grand Vitara being sold in india! Vitara has being discountinued and has been replaced by GV!

Though Jimny and XL7 are not sold in india, too small and too big!

GV is the right size for india!

Lada Niva 4x4, a famous Russian model from the 70s. The boxy design of it somewhere remained me of Gypsy. I have photographed them in order to share with you fellow Bhpians.

I dont think Vitara ever sold in India? I see a lot of Vitara's in Uk and some of them look brand new.
