This is Sashi's workshop, near Pushpa hospital in Bedford.

Previously his workshop was at Darlington bridge.

Hi beejay, this is a great thread u started. Good to know people in nilgiris are passionate about jeeps. Im currently restoring my willys and was looking for someone to make scissor top hood in and around ooty. Can you help me please?

Thank you for the kind words. There are many more folks out here who are real passionate.

Congrats on your restoration. There is a guy in Gudalur who does the hood on Athipally road called Shani. However they do not do any frames or bars.
They also stitch and do not have the heat press. The closest place available would be Manjeri where heat press in available.

I tried two hoods, one at Gudalur and one at Coonoor. They were not good.

I finally bought the original hood with frame and door, the full set from Bombay.

Where are you restoring your Jeep?

Congrats, try posting a thread here. I am sure you will find all the help you need from the folks here.

My friend is getting a full soft top soon from Bombay. Let me know if you need one too, we can save on the transport charges.

This is the CJ340 design. A member here has it on his CJ3b.

Came into Ooty today (15th Aug), and have a busted diesel tank, can you guys suggest me a good garage where i can get that fixed.
