You got great machine there. I was following all your threads.
Waiting for final product after the final coat.

One question: Will be the army rim color is same or repainting them also in the same body color. I think that will look good.

Hey Vinod.I am big time fan you man. The TPC winner for 2 years!.. You along with Arka, Siva have inspired me and l have learned quite a lot from your posts.
Wow so you are changing your 540 paint to match my 550. Thats wonderful!
That also means something else.any Guess?
You will have identical rigs (your 540 and my 550) in your team for TPC 2010! Lets Rock Palaar next year!!

IMO Light colours rob a bit of aggression from the jeeps. But I liked the colours a lot.

Absolutely MP! I like to see my rigs stand out.Dont like to follow the masses. No offense to anyone here.
I love military green and all shades of green. At the same time I like to give an identity to my 4x4's but at the same time I dont like to overdo it.
More than anything I guess its a personal choice.

Light colour does make Jeeps look less aggressive. But this colour and matt finish still keep it rough and aggressive I guess.

Thanks Rahul. I hope I will not disappoint you with the final product.
Yes wheels are painted in body colour already.

+1

to making your jeep stand apart . The Matt finish already has rough texture to it , from the pics i feel the jeep will still look butch.
Best of luck

Friends, At one point Siva was completely stuck with the 550 restoration. The gearbox also had to be overhauled along with the engine. Hence gearbox was removed and overhauled.Clutch & Fly wheel was in bad condition and had to replaced. Siva thought the fly wheel should be easy to find and was not worried much. But to his surprise when it was time to put together the Engine and GB back Siva realised that the MM550's fywheel and some other parts were not available in Chennai or the dealers ran out of stock.

At that time Siva made an SOS call to none other than Harjeev and he bought the parts from Delhi and shipped it to Chennai and the restoration continued in few days time.
Thanks a ton Harjeev.

Hey Shibu
Man you don't ever need to thank me for anything. Its always a pleasure plus I am always looking for reasons to go to Mayapuri!!! Infact I might be going there today to evaluate a CJ3B for a good friend (not on BHP)!!!
Will post pics soon in some appropriate thread!!!

Looks good!!! infact looking at your Photoshop job and Shibu's pictures is giving me ideas for the next paint job, whenever I might do it!!!

Exactly my thoughts!!! The MATT finish paint does look great, but this is the only drawback. It get hold of dirt and grease like a magnet. This is the reason I din't go for MATT for my CJ3B!!! But I guess Shibu must have thought of this aspect!!!

Guys here are some pictures of NCGS MM550 2005 model I saw in Mayapuri! in the same paint shade as Shibus, but in glossy!!!

First of all thats a great acquisition by Siva.
Guess the work was done very fast & it looks like a formula one pit stop, where all the work was done within two pages of a thread.

JC: would the final coat will be a glossy finish or a dull coat.

Har:Love the jeep you've posted.

True, wonder why some of us bother with wrecks when you can get vehicles in such good condition. Then again it may have been subject to a Mayapuri touch up job.

as the wise men say "dont judge the book by its cover"!

well well what to say and what not to say about that jeep from Mayapuri, harjeev posted!

guys dont go by the shiny paint work on that jeep, for us whats beneath that glossy and shiny paintwork matters and the news as always is bad workmanship on the mechanical working parts of the jeep!

mayapuri scrap and junk dealers are trying to make a quick buck by selling that shiny and glossy jeep and not by selling scraped jeeps!

"beware"..as the wiseman said!
