I am coming to Alleppey next week. I will drop in if you are around. I will give you the length tomorrow evening as I am not in trivandrum now.

I belive your gypsy has got an AC in it. I can see the additional fan in one of the pictures

@Anil, congrats for the Gypsy. Must say that you got it at an ok price.

If you plan to go off-roading then do remove the rear step fabrication as it will get hit and can damage the vehicle.

Congrats again and have fun.

Height from the front mounting is 7" and from the back is 5". This height is of the driving seat. The measurements of the left seat are different as they are mounted on to the floor.

Dear Khan Bhai, thanks for the info. We are not going to have any serious offroading as you do. but those steps will be removed for sure as it is spoiling the looks too.

Tharakan, that was a very usefull info. The seats which i am planning to install is of the same parameter.
The garage guy has totally confused us by giving the front height us 12" I was worrying on how the difference can be adjusted.

My Gypsy rebuild - inspired from all you BHPians

After the long wait and enormous follow ups the job is going in a good pace and the gypsy got its surfacer & base coat, we are going for a blue & black combination. The interior is also going to be finished in balck hence the dash board also will alos be refinished in black. I am attaching the pics with the base coat, the final coat will be a slightly darker shade than the current one.

It is really exciting to see the gypsy getting build up, adding to the excitement was the result on how the dash board has came out after the restoration, it came out so well than expected, see the pics to judge it yourself ..

The painter, i must says is unprofessional, he didn't masked the headlamps.

and did he sandblasted the floor. The rust may crop up later.

Dear Alec, you are right even i am not happy with the profossionalism of the workshop but at a small town like ours there are not much choices. Since the last one month every day i m spening atleast 30 - 40 minutes on the phone to have the job properly coordinated, my telephone bills has gone higher than the repair cost.

The final coat of the paint is done, the shade is matching with the proposed one only around 85% i have given the color code, formula to the workshop guy and even send them a sample metal plate on which i got the same color painted. It might be because the pics are not clear enough or the poor lighting conditions inside the garage.. waiting to see it in real.
