Finally a thread on the Landy! Looks amazing. I am sure the performance is excellent as well.

Loved your RRC, but this looks a tad overdone IMO, especially the wheels and tyres and the chequerplated eyebrows. I am interested int he engine conversion though - haven't come across this one before. Btw, is that a Safari snorkel? or the standard LR one?

Hi Allan, you've got a MACHO LR there !!!!!!!!!!

. Was the 3.5 ltr engine a direct fit or you had to modify the mounts???? Where do you source the engine from? Your LR is my new desktop image now

Hi Allan, Nice Landy u've got there. Would definitely love to check out your entire collection in the flesh anytime I get a chance to come that side. now i'm really curious about your other Landy.

3.6 ltr and no its not a direct bolt on, an adaptor plate has to be fabricated.

the snorkel is made here in my workshop, with a britpart high circulating head

I had a chance of going in a OTR along with Allan, who was armed with this particular Defender. I would agree that this engine is a torque giant as i saw how effortlessly it just went shashaying up a slope that challenged many a Mahindra classic and Gypsys.

Effortless is what i can say. I also rode in it on a part of the stretch and ill tell you this, a Defender is like no other off roader ive been in, especially in an OTR. Talking about road presence, its a winner through and through. Way to go Allan.

Hey i asked you before too!

what happened to the TUD5 or its original engine.

The original 5 cylinder diesel that comes in this is so reliable that i have driven one which came without a single hitch all the way overland from France.

OOps! it should be TD5. 2.5 liter straight 5.

Yeah! TuD5 was a 1.5 liter peugeot that came in Zen and Esteem D.
