This is the Nissan CD17 engine. It is a 1.7L engine.

I would suggest not to buy this. Too much to change. All you will be buying is the chassis and the tub. Rest everything will need to be changed to make it a "jeep" again!

As the age old saying by 'Sir Aristotle ARKAdamus' in 18th century BC says " Its not a jeep....Its a peep" ;-). Stay away from that pal, you will end up spending more in getting it to shape than buying a real good condition classic.

Dear all - most of the CLs are killed like this by unscrupolous workshops and unknowing owners. Sad but a fact of life nevertheless.

Dear Abbas - I am very happy that you have stayed away from such a "contraption". Please continue your search and buy only if TeamBHP approves.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Guys i was in Mumbai recently for moharram. I was accomodated in Ashok Nagar, Millitary Road, Andheri (E).

I found this Classic parked on millitary Road leading to ashok nagar. This is owned by some departmental store owner there. Opp. to his store there`s a TATA A.S.S.

I was informed that this jeep was just done up. The owner was not willling to sell. Do any of the mumbai guys know this Jeep. However he was very interested to go offroad with like minded people. So i told him about our community and he was hell exited.

Sorry for the bad quality pics. It was night time and my cell phone didn`t have a flash.

^^^ Abbas, Regd the BLN.825, its doubt its not a Classic, also think it is not even a CJ340. REASON - the BLN series was gone much before the 90's and thats why i am guessing it may be a very early CJ340's but surely not in the classic's timeframe.

Am thinking it may be a CJ500 cut to resemble a SWB.

Anyways, it is not for sale... Welcome the owner to TBHP and he can take the Jeep to its Glory... PS - Well executed rebuild job on at least what the pics reveal.

I agree with Anshuman...

The engine is taken.
The 4X4 is gone.

And for a 15 year old car, 2.4 l is way too high.
Stay away brother.
