The jeep had donned on its 1st coat of new paint.
The shade turned out be not exactly like the one i had in mind, boy these shade cards are real deceiving!
S0 the next coat on wards it shall be a tinge more darker.
Expecting the 2nd coat to take place today and may be tomorrow the jeep will be tilted on 2 wheels and under body and chassis will be painted.
Well the colour of the jeep is gonna be 'Light yelloish khakhi' It looks more like 'Sand Khakhi' Let the pics do the talking.

WIP pics below.

Hi Nishanth,

Looks like your Jeep is gonna rock. If you do plan to go for a soft top, then I think a black one (Just my opinion) would do justice to the overall look of the Jeep and would match the fabulous rims that you got for your Jeep. Enjoy the restoration !!!

Hey Spike

I am not exactly sure what you mean (still in the learning process ) but if you mean the 'K' shape cross member on the chassis, No it does not have a 'K' member but has straight cross members. I think you know better what i am trying to say!

A few Queries

@Nishanth please refer the pic, the area encircled red shows a support between the windshield and the targa band, was this available earlier in the Jeep or you got it installed? Also, which tyre are you planning to use? The spare wheel mounting bracket shown by you will not be able to take loads generated by an army wheel, so it is advisable to switch to a spare wheel mounting bracket with tubular structure, this has good rigidity,

Spike,

The support you are referring to was there originally when i got the jeep. Ref to the pic below when i got my jeep. I just got the curved soft top support above that fabricated.

I have already bought Yoko Geolander tires 31x10.5 / R15 AT-S LT and will be using on a 15x8j rim. Yes the present rear tail gate with the tire carrier will be weak for that. So i will be fixing the new type of tail gate like the one which comes on the post 2001 army vechiles and the Thar. harjeev has sent me one from Delhi. Now that the painting is about to finish i might get the current tail gate fixed as it is, get it registered and get the new type tailgate fixed after a few months.

cheers

Nishanth
