If you want to rekindle your romance with the Gypsy, I suggest you take it to the mountains.

No, I placed the order in February and the gypsy was not ready till August. My patience ran out and I cancelled the order in August end and after a lot of hassle I somehow got my money back.

I had a really sour experience and would definitely not recommend placing any sort of online orders. Order for such re-builds should be placed only if such restorers are from your city or if you can frequently travel to their workshop to keep track of the progress of work. In online mode there is just no transparency.

I am given to understand that only Aman of Auto Attitudes in Noida is good with timelines. None of the others are. Sorry that you had to go through this headache.
Now whats the plan? Are you still looking for a Gypsy?

Took the Gypsy out today New Year’s Day 2023 - for golf.
Nice and pleasant 60kms round trip.
Its just so lovely to drive it on more or less any road or no road at a comfortable pace. Truly a lovely vehicle.
And as Ive said before, very comfortable indeed in its stock form with OEM tyres filled to 20PSI.

When I read it, I thought 20 psi would be less. But looking at the tyres, they look adequately inflated - no sag at all. Will try out a similar pressure as soon as I get the chance.

Do bear in mind that 20PSI only works for the standard issue Nylon Cross Ply Gypsy tyres.
The radials of size 205/70/15 which are the recommended radial upgrade for Gypsy will have a recommended tyre pressure of 24 PSI in front and 26 PSI at rear (with load).
If like most normal users you have 215/75/15 size radials on your Gypsy then you can use 26PSI all round. This should give you good comfort.

Before placing the order with Vroom Vroom Restoration, I had a talk with Aman from Auto Attitudes. Vroom Vroom was chosen as he was providing a 2015 model with a couple of add ons like rpm meter, reverse parking sensors etc at the same price in which Aman would restore a 2010-2012 model. But reputation and brand value matters, which I learned the hard way. Should have sticked to Aman.

The hunt for a Gypsy is still on, but this time I am looking for a civilian Gypsy in and around Guwahati. I have also kept the old Thar as an option. I am not considering a new car like the new Thar/ScorpioN 4x4 as I intend to keep my second gen Ford Figo TDCi for my daily use. The offroad vehicle would be used only for weekend rides and trips to the less explored places. The new Jimny could be an option if launched at the low introductory price.
