does it happened because of the slope or because of 4WD engaged (Something similar had happened to a Gypsy in Rajmachi OTR)?

@Headers: Actually I saw Mr. Khan's Gypsy 1st over the threads thats why I mentioned it. Your's is also a nice job done. Please share that experience as well.:thumbs up

Sir, the B pillar of the Gypsy king is strong enough to withstand a rollover. Adding rollover tubes only increase the dead weight and will mostly break if not mounted properly onto the chassis.

Have seen many gypsies with bad roll cages or so called roll cages which will buckle in case of a flip or rollover!

In the picture I was trying to test till where I could manage to take the Gypsy into the lake.

Yes the ride is miles ahead and feels more planted at all times. I have used a Peddars setup!

Earlier the impediment was headers saying it is not a good idea. But now, with the dark clouds of recession/slow-down hovering above, I am not sure it is a good idea. Maybe some day. :)

Guys, the gypsy is a good vehicle if it is your second or third or 4th vehicle and you use it sparingly. Else it is boring!

Trust me, I use it only occasionally and for some offroad terrains only. If you look at the investment to returns, it is very very poor!

First two were shot from cellphone so excuse the bad quality..

This is how it came 3 years back..

Then went to this in some months..

And then to this a little while later..

And on to this now...

Have any of you burnt the Gypsy's clutch while offroading? Or is it heavy duty enough? My Classic was running on the original clutch way after 1.4 L kms on the 2.1 engine, and that included lots of off-roading. I must say, Mahindra's clutch systems are robust enough to handle abuse and all that torque. I have towed cars right from Rtechs Octavia to a friends UV and never did the clutch show any sign of weakness. Guess with all the overloading etc. in rural applications, Mahindra has no choice but to build them strong.

I had burnt my clutch plate badly enough on pack of boulders, I got struck between two boulders. No matter how much i give power , the gypsy wouldn't budge. Burnt my clutch for the first time in OTR. I was pulled out by a Mahindra Classic.

Khan_sultan had his clutch burnt in Coorg OTR 2007. Bad useage of clutch by local fellow who drove khan's gypsy. Result, Khan had to travel back to bangalore-300 kms at 15 -20 kms speed.

Clutch burning instances do happen on OTRs. All in how you use it. Tips: Use clutch sparingly on OTRs.

Any body else, experienced clutch burn here?
