Wow! Looks very nice Shibu..
Looks like my gypsy's elder brother
What have you done to avoid that bigger tyre not foul anywhere?
I do not see an extended shackle in the front. Or maybe you have an extended shackle, but only at the rear??
Cheers,
Deepak

Dear Deepak, Thanks. I have put a 2" body lift and that's why the tyres are not fouling.

re: Maruti Gypsy Pictures

hi, i am new to the Gypsy segment, as my name suggests, i have always been associated with all things Mahindra
started off with a MM540, graduated to a MM550 4wd, then did all sorts of crazy antics with a Bolero 4wd, and finally signed off with a Classic. now, i thought i have to try out something different, so went and got myself a 2008 model Maruty Gypsy king, run only 8000 kms, so guys check it out, updates regarding mods will follow
1. alloys and Apollo Hawkz RT 225/70 R 15
2. composite fibre leaf springs ( Gypsy SHAKES man)
3. free flow exhaust
4. snorkel
5. hard top with AC
6. Crawler and diff locks
7. etc etc ( open to suggestions)

Any changes to be done to the steering wheel/shaft alignment as a result of this ?

Going by other peoples experiences, One has to be extremely lucky to get ones hands on a used Gypsy in shipshape condition - what with only 8000kms on the Odometer!!

Congratulations!!

Thanks bro. I havent done any changes to the steering. Infact the steering has become smoother than the stock setup. May be due to the change in angle of the king pin.
Cheers

re: Maruti Gypsy Pictures

Hi,
This Is vamsi,I had this Thread posted( Gypsy Stock OR Rebuild)in 4*4vehicles, twice from past 10days.With in two days I post, when I try accessing the post I see a message saying “Invalid Thread specified”. I had taken this to Moderators notice like 8 times now, but I did not receive any mail in return. So I am posting it here though it doesn’t belong to this thread. Pleas post it where it belongs.

I have a option of choosing between two vehicles:

1.MG 413W soft top 2009,done 7000 km, No AC, No PS asking price 5 lac.
2. MG 410W hard top 1995, has AC, PS, Bridgestone 215/75 R15 tires. This
vehicle is not in use from past one and half year.

Which one should I go for....., This vehicle is for my daily use(My usage would be 1500-2000 a month). How much should I quote for either of these vehicles?

If I pick 1995 Model, I intend to do the Following:
1. Custom made front Bumper.
2. Replace front Grill, Hood with Kings.
3. Strip down to bare minimum, Repaint Under Body With 3M antirust, Repaint entire vehicle.
4. Swap the engine with a Baleno 1.6(G16B), GB from King.
5 Overhaul the differentials.
6. Break Booster.
7. Suspension work.
8. Replace Front seats.
9. Replace Most of the Rubber parts.
10. Replace wind shield, window glasses.
11. Bolero type side Mirrors.
13. Roll cage, this because I will be using this vehicle on Highways so thought this would be of some help Just in case.
14. FFE.
15. FF Intake.
16. Replace Head lamps and Tail lamps if needed.
I might also consider few other upgrades if its really worth going for:

17. OME setup.
18. Mew wheels -ve off set.

This is what i have in mind, but is it really possible to achieve those quality standards in real keeping costing in place. Experts please comment, is there anything useful which is missed mentioning in the list.

Can you guys give approximate costs involved? And is it really worth going for this Rebuild over the Stock, keeping reliability, Performance, Availability of spares. Will the Fuel efficiency be decent with 1.6, with the raising fuel prices, I also intend to use this vehicle for long Trips.

Pleas suggest if there is anything missing and important.
Expert’s pleas comment. Pics posted is the 95MG410W i mentioned.
Thank you,
Vamsi.
