Hello Asad,

Which part of Bangladesh do you stay. I visit Chittagong often. Might team up there foran OTR if I take our Jeep there. The terrains in the Hilly tractsof Chittagong are just too tempting though I haven't benn there.

Nice Vehicle Amazing Location! But I think you could've used a little less of Photoshop it takes the charm out of the pics.

Abheekg,

Nice backgrounds for your gypsy. One question comes up, is it allowed to retain the camouflage colour of your gypsy? Looks though great and tough

After your post i realized that i have never shot Yossarian (thats what i call my gypsy) on a tour: EVER! There is just one grainy shot taken by someone else on his mobile!

So i just went out a clicked a couple of snaps arbit just now. So here they are.

i think i am inspired enough now to go out for a quick drive to Kundalika Valley or something for a photosession! ANyone wants to come along is welcome!

Very minimum photoshop used in these pics. Most of these pics are HDR shots from my canon. Only used Ps to add the credits as I a little paranoid about the copyright of my pics

as far as I have enquired, there should be no problem to retain this colour as the only colour not allowed by the Motor vehicles act is military olive green ( thats contrary to the fact that most ex army vehicles on this forum are dressed with that colour, but by law olive green is not allowed.)

Thanks I have always been a fan of the cammo green myself and this vehicle is a huge hit with everyone I know.

Ex military vehicles when they are registered with rto's are usually not assigned any colour on the rc book. We can influence the rto to enter any colour that we want on the book.

I am not sure what you mean by "influence the RTO". What will you put under "color" section in your RC certificate?

i have seen atleast 2 gypsies in Chandrapur and one in Ramnagar (for Corbett) impounded by the distt authorities for being painted in camouflage colors so be careful.

This rule is mainly to avoid confusion in case of accidents or use of vehicle in illegal activity. A clear demarcation has to be there between civilian and service vehicles.

This info is most helpful. I was thinking of getting "camouflage green" or "camo green" entered in the colour section of the RC.
Which 2 gypsies in chandrapur are you referring to ? I am asking because I can get in touch with their owners and try to find out the cause of their impounding so that we can learn what exactly went wrong with them.

Can you quote the relevant section of the Motor Vehicles Act or any other ordinance which gives this directive .

Here are some links to refer to which throw more light on the camo pattern of vehicles and camo painting, none of them India specific though :

Military camouflage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MILITARY VEHICLE CAMOUFLAGE PATTERNS
How to Paint a Jeep in Camo | eHow.com
AS-R Review Database - Custom Camo Stencils - Powered by ReviewPost
How To: Paint Camouflage, Template and Freehand - Filipino Airsoft (FAS)

Here are some threads on teambhp which have discussed this issue in the past :

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...eep-green.html

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...ehicles-2.html

By the way, I found the following paragraph in "Delhi Motor Vehicles' Rules 1993 (as ammended)

6)(i) The registering authority subject to the provisions of the Act,. Shall not register a vehicle
in the State painted in the following colours, namely:
(a)Olive green; and
(b)Disruptive pattern with combination of colours, as used by security forces or para military
forces.
(ii)In case any motor vehicle is found plying in the State in contravention of the provisions of
Clause (i) above or the Rules 50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicles rules, 1989, then it shall
be prosecuted and its registration shall be liable for cancellation.

Throws up a lot of questions !!!

Abheek
