Are these a straight fit? And do the dampers make a big change by themselves to the suspension with the stock leaf springs? It would be very nice to tame the rear in particular, so it stops kicking me in the back over every little bump. I have hesitated to change to CFL for worry they will break, so the Xylo dampers sound very interesting.

The dampers are very comfortable and definitely solve the harsh the ride issue to a large extent, but I think you need to have a lift to accommodate them. My car is running a 2" shackle lift.

Superb pics.

Question: How you got the side foot step done? I have the "official" side foot rest. Very useful. But, I like this type too.

Also, suggest a good place to get such things in BLR. Thanks in advance.

It was a DIY. I bought it at a local parts shop - ask for Jeep side footsteps; costs around INR 200.
I chopped it a bit and drilled 4 holes in the floor platform and bolted it. The mounting can be made easier, but I wanted something that could be removed easily before venturing offroad.

I can suggest places at Mysore. Bangalore car scene, I'm not familiar with. Sorry.

Re: Maruti Gypsy Pictures

Its raining Gypsy's in my city: I spot one of these, just out of the showroom every single day!! Also it isn't uncommon to spot a Gypsy as a display car on the showroom floor.

Posting two pics I took on different days at my MASS. Both were private cars!!

Too bad for me, too ! Was looking for easily available shockers to improve/eliminate the 'mule-kick' at the back.... mine is a metal body five-door and I have one extra leaf all around to take care of the added weight. But that makes the 'mule-kick' harder ! The Xylo-Innova setup seemed perfect till I read about the 2" lift !!

Been a while so I though I'd start with an atmospheric shot of the family. The gypsy (and of you look closely the dog under it) is a part of the family.

Antihero - It seems like you got the hard top changed for your gypsy. Throw some light on it about the source you obtained and the cost associated with it.

Two MG410Ws in the garage. This belongs to my friend and mentor. P.S. a good (original) top can be had here in j&k for around 15k.

Vikram the Gypsy looks impeccable!
1. Is that blue loctite on the wheel nuts?
2. Which parts have you kitted out, is it running on the new struts that you were supposed to get from abroad?

And one from the early days in 2010 when I was learning its capability. I don't do any off roading now unless the destination demands it; I don't see any point in it otherwise. But it is useful to know what the car can do when it must.

A friend took this from a phone from that time; again proving that it isn't the camera that matters.

And a final couple of pictures with the usual navigator:
