Re: Bolero Storm 4x4 Wish list

It is indeed a dream Jeep. But GrayBerry, it is very painful when the dreams are shattered. Let us not push ourself into that pain as we dont have any information on this project yet..

Yes, its hard when your dreams are shattered. Makes sense to be practical and hold our comments.

Re: Bolero Storm 4x4 Wish list

Hey the New "Mahindra Rise" website says an interesting thing about the Bolero, which is NOT clearly reflected on MAHINDRABOLERO.COM:

1)
See:
industry

SLX Micro Hybrid in BS3!!! What engine configuration is it? Of course, the Dealers know nought!

Why can't they mate a 4WD with this? (Sob)

IMHO the Micro Hybrid is not some ground breaking technology. The engine just shuts off automatically while you are idling and your foot is off the accelerator and starts again the moment you press the clutch. Not the ideal situation in traffic jams in the city and with the AC on! The engine is still the DI.

Yup, I was aware of what MicroHybrid is. But, I was wondering if they had to do something special to mate it with the DI Engine.

Also, it is a good marketing stunt, but in actual city use, it pretty much sucks.

During RWUP trials, I make it a habit to drive as a real world usage customer would drive and then evaluate the vehicles. I cannot be a human ABS at that time.

Dear jp1 - your comment on rear seat is well taken. There are various reasons why some features are there on some vehicles.

Dear all - Please give your comments on Bolero VLX 4 wheel drive as we in my group are going to progress a prototype for "proof of concept" stage work as of now. It will have mechanically actuated transfer case.

hello BD sir
presently own a Peted Storm which flies with the wind but brakes like a devil
4x4 storm would be my dream machine.....however a small wish list
1. Redesigned front bumper, it sucks with all the screwed on metal strips
2. brighter lights
3. Space to put in an after market winch, inter cooler in the way
4. No ugly graphics please!
( The graphics guy must be a close relation of the mahindra clan put in there for rehab)
5 Better front and back seats
6. The strip of plastic that covers the gear stick has to go!!
All this costs but then give them to us in some "frigging" limited edition
....we are shameless mahindra addicts!
Its a love hate relationship

Re: Bolero Storm 4x4 Wish list

First it was the Scorpio 4WD in lesser trim,
then the xylo 4WD.
then now talk of a Mini Xylo 4WD.
And finally the talk has shifted to a bolero 4WD VLx.

For a company that prides itself on its ruggedness and 4WD heritage, mahindra seems to be making a lot of its potential customers and die hard fans wait, and wait and wait.

Hope some of these products makes it to the showrooms soon.

Re: Bolero Storm 4x4 Wish list

With DB gone from Mahindra, I doubht we will see a Bolero Storm 4x4. Althouh, this would be an ideal LWB 4WD platform.
