guys I am confused about two things now.
1) TYRES-really fell in love with the 32x11.5 maxxis bighorn(had decided on 31x11.5 mudzillas first)
2) PAINT-confused between olive green, black and navy blue.

Hello Mr. Garrett t16,

Your jeep project is really very interesting and we all hope will turn out to be a hit very soon. There have been big name visitors in your thread, and I am surprised no one has pointed out a great achievement that you are about to fulfill.
This is the first time I am seeing a XD3P diesel engime being mated with an old model XDP 4.90's bell housing, as shown in the third picture of your post number 37.
Have you been able to crank the engine ever, from the wrong side? If yes, then you would have solved many jeepers dreams of having a left hand jeep with XD3P diesel.
Please write more on this topic and post pictures of that wonder starter motor.

A great project coming up and my earnest request is to avoid a hydraulic clutch, which can never be possible in your case, unless a big 'jugaad' is done. Also ensure you have the emergency/hand brake at the gearbox itself.
Has Mahindra Classic ever come with a twin lever transfercase? Gurus please highlight.
Wishing you all the best,
with you always......................... UBS

Hi Mr.Singh,
about the engine ,have not yet started it when i was present at the workshop but it was started once when it was overhauled.
Sorry but although i am doing Mechanical engineering i am not so familiar with JEEPS. so could you please elaborate on the engine being started from the wrong side ?
and also there is work going on in the same place where my jeep is being built on a early 1940's (don't exactly know the year) Ford Gpw,It is a Left Hand Drive jeep which is being fitted with a XD3P so i think a LHD jeep with XD3P is possible !
you can see the red ford gpw in my first post in the back(the red jeep)
it has a spade on the side and an original gun stand above the dash, behind the steering.

Hi garrett_t16,

Congratulations and hatsoff to you on taking such a big project as startup.

Trust me, as harjeev and a few others have mentioned it in earlier posts, this kind of project is a dream for everyone here.

Will be glued to this Thread. Good luck!

Where is the garage at Goregaon? Me and David can visit to check the work in progress if its ok with you.

it absolutely ok with me, but i dont think the plan will materialize because today the PS will be fitted along with the bonnet and the front grill, the body tub was fitted yesterday.

so probably the car will go off to final bodywork and paint maybe tomorrow morning or max by tomorrow afternoon.

And sadly my exams are going on, why dont you guys hang around till the whole jeep is ready, then we can do a mini-meet in goregaon !

ABOUT THE COLOUR GUYS- I AM BIGTIME CONFUSED BETWEEN 'GLOSSY BLACK' , OLIVE(MILLITARY) GREEN AND A REALLY DARK SHADE OF BLUE.

FRIENDS PLEASE FLOOD ME WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS AS I HAVE MAXIMUM ONLY 5-7 DAYS TO DECIDE THE PAINT !

The actual military green is not allowed on civilian vehicles, please note that.

i think black will look good.
