Headers, do you hate us HTers so much that you would have us ride around in Boleros? What did we do to provoke you?

Hey DD, I realize the mistake of suggesting the Bolero HT. But having seen MM products, do you think they will do anything better?

The GB pic is nice, we need to seriously look at reducing the travel between each gear.

Just for fun, if Tata's decide to do this with their Xenon, with their 2.2, 4X4, Borg Warner, LSD, ABS, Airbags etc. How many of you would consider a shift? If...

Not me, sir. For me the Thar is passion unlimited!

Even my 2008 CR-V doesn't appeal to my heart like the Thar does.

I would still take the Xenon, unless offcourse they intend to make something like the Sierra!

Knowing Xenon's wheelbase and weight, I would still say NO. I don't need one more trail-rider, I have the GV for that.

2. Plonk the Scorpio Mhawk 2.2 DOHC Diesel Engine - Engine Remapped to 200 BHP and 300 Nm torque

3. Mate a modern trip tronic gearbox - {oh my I'm tired of the NGT 530s man } And make 4wd HIGH and LOW via a simple lever. OK OK atleast give us a slicker GB and a lighter clutch

4. Have the design to accept multiple body shapes on the same platform. [Aka XYLO, INVADER, SCORP, MIni SCORP, Bolero, Jeep, etc etc ]

5. Bolt on the Bolero body for HT lovers and the 550 NGCS body for the vintage lovers.

6. Irrespective of Point #5 above, vehicle should not exceed 1500 kgs. If it exceeds 1500 kgs then make ABS and EBD mandatory.

7. Improve the quality of switchgear to be atleast to the level of XYLO or SCORPIO..the bolero has BAD switchgear.

8. PRICE TEH vehicle attractively so that I buy 2 - one for daily use and one for OTRs : LOL
Here we go again .

Not again for me too. No fresh 4wd design right from scratch on cards right now. So no false hopes.

Sharat,
There are two ways on doing registration. One is through dealer and the other is through website. In both cases you will have to take a DD in the name of M&M along with a covering letter and either send it to Mahindra or give it to the local dealer where event is happening.

We are in the process of making registration simple by accepting online payments. This will take time.

Both gear shift travel and distance between gears. As the distance decreases, so will the travel of the gear shift to slot into a particular gear.

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Should depend on the design of the dog. Also, from the operators perspective, linkage (in its most general form) design plays a very important part.

You are correct.

Infact, I've known some local guys who've made the M800 GB slicker. Also the FISSME features the same GB and is such a delight to use.

I'm not even suggesting those kind of GBs but atleast the existing NGT 530R can become NGT540 or something on similar lines reducing effort to change gears.

The energy one wastes doing all these NVAs makes one "not" enjoy the vehicle.

But again, its entirely "my" perspective
