Actually the real number plate had that Gyroscope installed so that the number plate always remains parallel to the ground. NO law breaking here.

Technology is similar to RollsRoyce wheel logo, first time used in offroaders

Samurai,

He is fully justified in being baffled but it may be the real thing

A "Little Birdie" confirmed that Thar with an MDi Engine is going to be on offer along with the Thar.

The MDi version would be priced at a considerably lower price

Probably this (MDi version) would time with the discontinuing of Major which is to happen soon.

Best Regards & drive/Ride Safe

Guys, let us not put people in delicate situations. Let us not undermine the purpose of this thread, by posting such speculative info.

Please leave the 'little birdies' (and little bees !) out of this.

I hope the underlying message in my post is understood.

Thanks.

If some one knows more details regarding 4WD specs/price/launch date etc pls share
I guess there will be a new thread coming up in few days...

Please do not speculate. I will give you right info when appropriate.

Thanks off road maniac for posting those pics from south africa. Awesome articulation!! Did some one observe even longer shakle on rear leaf spring and front sway bar removed?

THAR never stops to amaze me.

anyway i just want to know the hinges on the tailgate are reinforced along the wheel carrier as standard OE fitment or its an DIY job?

Is it possible to get Silver Alloys if Thar is gonna be shod with MRF Sandgrip tyres. Also let me know if the CG tables would be turned if a sandgrip shod Thar does a 140MPH in the highways.A white THAR with the tall sandgrip tyres and the grill mesh and bare cage would be a head turner.Plus a HID in the old headlight unit would do enough to caution the other cars to make way for the KING

Imagine a White THAR with silver alloys and shod with Sand grip.Plus HID and a grill mesh and an open cage in the rear. The stepney would do well to keep eyes riveted and wherever the vehicle goes HE will be a head turner. Its a MAN machine

Thar does fly on the Highways, Was surprised to know the timing Behram sir managed between Chickmagalur and Bangalore.

Behram sir says, if the scorpio looses weight, Gets the 4WD, guess what happens A Thar is born, and what a killer of an SUV it is.

My dream is becoming reality!

thank you Behram sir for taking care while rebuilding 540 as THAR!

guys please stop calling THAR a SUV (yankee terminology), its a 4x4/4WD vehicle!

All who cant name their vehicle JEEP, call it SUV! Remeber SUVs go to the Mall, 4x4/4WD go OFF ROAD!

Aren't we getting really sick of the big talk, its time now to walk the talk. For so long people have been raving Thar this, Thar that, etc. come on bring it out for all to know.

There are countless Jeeps/SUV's World over & very accomplished ones at that. What do we have to do with all that till they come out in India!

I think these threads on Thar should be locked & opened once vehicle finally comes out on Indian roads.
