Hmmmm,

Congratulations on your buy!!! I think you purchased it from the guy near Riverside Honda. How much you paid for it? With registration. He had one more when I saw there.

Where are you restoring it?

I can see only the gear shift lever (third last pic) and not the transfer case lever. Is this a 2WD?

I can see the front dif in the original army avatar pic. Have you converted it to 4x2 or is it still a 4x4?

Please give more details about how you purchased it? What price? What mods are you planning if any? Etc.

And what's with the title? Your name is Hrishi?

Congratulations for the wonderful buy, with this I say nothing grabs my attention as a 550XD does, I siply love it! I don't know why I didn't have it by now but sure will have it one day. A guy at my garage where my Willys is getting done is converting his 540 to 550 xd specification (only body) engine is the same and the twist is that this 550XD would be a 2 wheel drive .

Are you Getting all the milatary specs like the war lamp on the fenders, grille on the head lamps, handles on the body etc for the original looks. By the by what are your future plans on this jeep build up (interiors, engine) would that be stock or something else. Would love to hear it from you. Congratulations once again.

Hi nofear power steering is a good idea to happen to this Hulk. As someone else has also asked form where is the steering system coming from. Is it from a car? what is the changes which your are taking up to accomodate the power steering system and atlast the cost factor.

There is an Pakistani Kaiser getting done up at the same shed where my Willys is almost done he is importing parts for UAE esp from a scrapped Wrangler to get his jeep done. 40% of his jeep's parts are from Wrangler the rear door, power steering system, steering assy etc.

No to offend or degrade the workman ship but some I am not liking the paint job done on the jeep I may be wrong but to confirm is it the last coat or still there is any work to be done of the Jeep in reg to paint. What are the tyres you are option for this Hulk?

That looks like a power steering of a Travera fitted upside down.

Dear nofear9009 - I would sincerely request you to revert to original specification steering system. Looking at the photographs scares me. Reliability will get adversely affected and it can affect safe operation of your vehicle. Sorry for frank words, but your safety and that of all other road users overrides everything else. Please see V16's CJ3B thread. He had tried it and then removed it on my request. He is happy with the end result and the vehicle is reliable also.

One request - except for this contraption, the car has come out well. Acchi bhali gaadi ka satyanaash mat karo, please.

If you need further information, please PM me, I will guide you in totality.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Hi
sorry for not replying as i was away , the PS is of tata sierra and it should cost around 4 to 6 thousand not more than that, and the resoration of that PS say another 2 thousand approx depends on the condition and the bracket or fitting 2 to 3 thousand, so i think it would cost somewhere around 15k +- totally.
I would be putting the black top as i didnt get it that time and i was just waiting to get the jeep home so put this one on :-)
Regards
Hrishikesh.
