I must also congratulate you on your GPW engine. It looks fab and I was really suprised to see that it still has the factory color on it. Either the engine has never gone a major restoration or has very few miles on it. Can you please let us know the condition of the GPW engine? Are there any major cracks on the block? How does the inside looks?

Hi Rejo,

Let me reveal the truth now.. This TLC FJ62 has been transferred to Shibu (JeepCaptain).

As I have recently taken up a CJ3B restoration I can't afford too many vehicles in my parking lot. Hence gave up TLC FJ62 for CJ3B and future GPW project.

I'm still holding my TLC FJ40 (going to be permanent vehicle in my family) from Toyota lineup. The restoration of my TLC FJ40 is on full swing under experienced vintage restorer Mr.Muthukumar (TBHP Handle: powertwin). The details of my FJ40 restoration could be found in this thread here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...iser-fj40.html

Regarding the GPW engine, I didn't see any damage on the block. The starter, distributor internals and cup and bell housings are missing. I'm on the lookup for many other items to complete the engine.

You are right, this engine seems to be a sealed one without any previuosly attempted built. If all goes well this engine will be still having low mileage on it. Since I'm planning to restore it in JeepStation, Howrah. I havn't opened it here.

@Shibu, Finally you have guessed it.

Yes, I have got myself a GPW-6015(1942-1945) GoDevil petrol powerhouse on the burnt ashes of Coimbatore scrap yard. The beauty is that this engine rotates and came with missing starter motor and distributer cup. Otherwise I even got the clutch housing, starter motor and oil filter etc.

Looks like I'm getting my old Tiger back to home ;-)

Now I'm on search for a Ford/Willys pre 1951 model Jeep in any condition so this engine finds its life in one of the old body that was designed for the same purpose.

Nothing like collecting bits and pieces of a Jeep (my Tiger), Finally after year of waiting I found and bought the original 6v Autolite push pedal starter for the GoDevil. Hurray now the engine is complete...

But search for GPW frame with RC is still on and body and rest of the work will be done upon getting the frame and RC.

Re: Monster Toyota Landcruiser FJ62

The engine of GPW is complete with more missing parts being collected, recent addition is the following CJ2A's vaccum assisted distributor from Auto-Lite. I believe as both the jeep's were equipped with GoDevil and this will be a direct fit.

I also noticed that this distributor got a small hole (damage) on the brass screw that is located in the side of the body. I think it is repairable, otherwise I will get that fixed with brass welding.

Spotted this iconic 60 Series Landcruiser in Prabhadevi. Looks like it hasn't been used in a while.

Is this still at Prabhadevi? If yes, then where is it located?
