Hey Parm

This is kind of a hard soft top. Or shall we say permanent soft top. Its well and truly screwed in

Can take it off but will have to go back to Ramesh to do so

SO what did all this cost??

I guess this post of most significance to most of you guys working on rebuilds and restorations. Me thinks the actual team that helped on and worked on the project are far more important. That's my next post. For the numbers, here goes:

NEW BODY

35000/-

FENDERS

7000/-

TIN WORK AND PAINTING

20000/-

SALE OF OLD BODY

-5000/-

PARTS

45000/-

NEW GB + TC

18000/-

LABOUR

8000/-

ELECTRICALS

3500/-

FUEL PUMP WORK

3500/-

SOFT TOP

11000/-

SEATS RESTORATION

3500/-

Thats a sum total of 149,500/-. I am sure to have missed out some costs here and there, but this is the most of it. Atleast the big ticket numbers

Hi 53, First off, your jeep looks wonderful - clean and sober, just beautiful!

Did you get the hood made at Ramesh at CST Kurla road?!
Would you mind disclosing the price of the same?!
(I need to get a nice crisp/tight softtop made for my gypsy)

Thanks!

With the body you get only the tub and nothing else. tailgate, front fenders, windshield are all add ons

GB TC is new never used. standard 4+1 but yes never used

All sourcing info will be in the project team post. stay tuned

Got the bulk of the work done at steiger's garage. again more details in project team post

Yup. Right on. he is the only one with the bonding machine that allows you to bond the clear plastics to the canvas/acrylic for the windows.everyone else gets it done there

The material was supposedly imported from germany. but i am guessing it was more likely made in a place like bhiwandi. probably gets exported

So thats why it was expensive to do. the price is in the costing post

I am putting together a post on the hood with pictures. more info there

Oh yes - I just read in the cost break up, the soft top was 11,000/-

I have a couple of more questions! Does the Softtop have a layer of ply wood on the roof?
Anything else that is unique/special about the top?!

Thanks!

Why is a layer of ply wood needed? I have a similar soft top but never thought of this. How does this help?
