Re: I found The Hulk - WILLYS CJ3B

Fazal sir - Nevertheless I really really appreciate your help. Would you know of anybody who got a good original/reproduction muffler? The one that I got from Mayapuri turns out to be of very poor quality. Seems like its just the drum and nothing else inside it.

What did you do finally, put the new pump or still with old pump? Did you remove the additional filter?

Dear Jaggu / Shubz - rather, it should be, "did you do what I told you to do"? I am again saying that nothing else will work. Now it is peak summer, you will be able to test it also.

Best regards,

Re: I found The Hulk - WILLYS CJ3B

New pump is assembled and kept ready to install. However run into an assembly issue as this pump is with the wiper attachment. so the lower portion is of larger diameter. The plate used to close the engine compartment had a little rectangular hole earlier to accommodate the lower portion of the pump. The new plate that was put does not have the hole. so the left fender has to be removed and a hole drilled so that the pump can be fitted.

Have asked Gopal to remove the second filter.

DB sir - Your instructions will be followed. Will update the post with details once there is progress.

Gopal is not in a mood to work. Babu still hasn't turned up. Mamu is still down with a sore back. and Gopal sits at the workshop with a forlorn look on this face. Tried pepping him up y'day and thats when he took up the new FP. Couldn't do the same today, he was just seated inside his office writing something. So left.

Removing the second filter.
Aligning fuel pipe line as per DB sirs suggestion.
Gopal called his regular spare supplier and he has a wworiginal muffler. Hope to get that by tomorrow.
New Spark plugs as 1 of the 4 spark plugs was misbehaving.

Looking good, you should have changed the plugs when you did the rebuild. Replace all 4 if you have not, its some 250 300 bucks for 4.

yes will be replacing all 4. Was kinda surprised that Gopal did not suggest that. Nevertheless better late than never.

The moment the pump was fixed and engine cranked, Gopal broke into his customary smile - That said - Works perfect!

Re: I found The Hulk - WILLYS CJ3B

Yes but remove that additional filter also, ask him to get a longer tube which will connect both the pumps, when he orders the plugs.

Additional filter removal is already on the agenda. Must have got off by now. Had asked Siraj to remove it before he went for his Namaaz.

Regarding tubes - Once the 2nd filter is removed, this is how it is going to be -- Fuel Tank - tube - EFP - tube - bigger filter - tube - AC pump.

so longer tube means?

Shubz,
The overall length of your fuel line to AC pump will be the same, just make sure there are no sags, and yes that is the order of fitting the above stuff inbetween tubes.

NO! Tank > Filter > EFP > Mech Pump > Carb!!!

Logic watson logic, muck comes from tank, trap it there so that both EFP and Mech Pump does not have any issues!
