Thanks,
You could get a Gear Lock made by Xenos for 1500 bucks. It locks the gear when in reverse. You can also have a concealed Hella Battery Disconnector Switch for 250 Bucks.

Or if you want to get fancy, get a quick release steering hub with a compatible steering.

A friend had recently put a NRG unit in his MR2 and it takes no effort to remove the steering wheel and carry it with you.

Re: Army Gypsy 2000 MPFI- Build Off

Guys I need to get a half cabin made.
How much should a fiber one cost?
Is a metal cabin advisable or a fiber one?
Also, if anybody has a blueprint of the cabin structure it would be of great help.

Thanks

Thank you so much. Somebody told me that it is seen only on army gypsies. I wanted to verify on mine.

Re: Army Gypsy 2000 MPFI- Build Off

@Gotzuk, whats that rotary thing that is there in the centre console of your friends MR2.

It looks very much like the sound control knob for a hyundai 2.1 speaker system. Has he borrowed it for audio controls or what is it?

Re: Army Gypsy 2000 MPFI- Build Off

Update:
  • engine rebuilt
  • new radiator
  • new clutch plate/pressure plate
  • rims painted silver (sticking to stock right now)
  • Kill switch being installed.
Not much of response of fellow team bhp members, i know its not a complete rally build or a fancy gypsy rebuild thread, but i'm sure the car will be able to nake its mark in OTRs.

Cheers.

Coming out really well and as far as i can see you and your mech are doing the right thing by changing faulty parts instead of repairing it.

Re: Army Gypsy 2000 MPFI- Build Off

Yes Jaggu, we have replaced every essential part. Idea is to have a hassle free 70K-80K kms of ride with regular service.
Would you have a blueprint of a half cabin for a gypsy? Also one of my previous questions remains unanswered- Is a metal cabin recommended or a fiber one? Has anybody used FRP to ake a cabin?

Thanks.
