Re: Offroading with Thar DI: The Sensible Option

From other threads in the forum, I understand that HT can be done as a customization package that M&M offers, but costs more than a lakh. 4X4's HT looks good and the cost as per him is around 50K. So thinking will get the ST and have HT done. On the AC front, the AC for Thar thread has lot of issues listed, but looks like have to go for an after-market setup. will check with the dealer (India Garage) on whether they are doing the AC fittings for Thar. going there tomorrow.

thanks
Siva

Also, please ask them whether they would sell a THAR MDI 4x4 in Chennai if we have a BS3 address? Can you please post the prices ON ROAD?

Thanx in advance

Re: Offroading with Thar DI: The Sensible Option

I had been to India Garage today, they said that they can fit AC on the Thar. Only the CRDe version is available. The person said that since the showroom is in Chennai, they will not be able to accept order / sell the MDI version. On road price for Thar CRDe is 7.4 Lakhs (on-road, no extra accessories). Was told that the AC would be around Rs.50000 extra.

Enquired with Mahindra customization on the Thar Adventure concept (comes with hard top, A/C and host of other changes). The customizations cost an additional 6.2 Lakhs, which is too high. Looking for other customizations around Chennai.

Re: Offroading with Thar DI: The Sensible Option

bought the DI version of the THAR two weeks ago , and driven about 1500 already , must say i'm really happy with my vehicle.
Noise levels on the outside is like any other DI ,however on the inside not too much at all . with a little bit of after market sound dampning products would be as good as the bolero DI .
ive put up a post and pics thats yet to be cleared by the moderators.
havent yet taken her offroading but im sure its going to do very very well, but i guess ill have to change the diff ratios from stock to one that can handle the OTRs .

Thar DI in Bangalore?

Is it possible to buy/register a new Thar DI in Bangalore? Anyone tried yet?

Cannot be done as Thar DI is BSIII vehicle. Only BSIV can be registered in major cities/metros.

Re: Offroading with Thar DI: The Sensible Option

This thread seems to have gone dead. Any updates on the Thar MDI? Are the serious off-roaders buying it? If not what are they buying / building?
