Congrats Jeepster..We had a similar auction here at Nagpur sometime back around first week of Feb. I somehow missed it as i was unaware.BTW didnt that restyled Jonga ( one behind your Armada) find any buyers ?

Congratulations Jeepster. I'm a fan of Armada. Hope you'll be soon posting restoration pics. From what websites can we know about upcoming govt. auto auctions? I'm keen on a MM540 but I do not know about any such sites.

Congratulations young brother, go ahed with your creations. You may get some ideas from my ''Land Marshal''

Hey Nikhil,
Congratulations!!... Happy to see the specs listed. A well deserved 4X4. Wish you all the very best for the restoration.:thumbs up

Hardik Abhinandan!!

Keep the WIP pics flowing.:)

Congratulations. Nice to see the whole bidding process taking shape.

So what was the final amount you paid. and as for the restoration, are you getting it done by your mechanic or by someone else

Waiting to see the result.

Jeepster you are one of the passionate jeep enthusiast in our community and what a vehicle you have ended up!! Congrats dude! I am sure it is in good hands and will come out in a great way.

@ jeepster: I hope you decide to go all out. A hard-core offroad Armada would be one unique vehicle. All the best and more importantly, keep us posted!

I'd love to do a jeep build of my own, but I'm going to do the next best thing...for now! A friend has asked me to restore his old MM540 and maybe add a few mods. I'm a novice when it comes to building a custom jeep, so you can be sure that I'll be watching this thread with bated breath.

Oops, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

auction was way better experience in present.
it was chaos there.
there were 70 lots of single vehicle but the scrap dealers form mumbai, hyderabad, aurangabad, nanded, beed made a team & forced the auctioneer & government officers to sell it in the 3 lots of 20~30 vehicles.

only 5~6 vehicles were sold individually that day. (the scrap wallas increased bid amount of individual vehicles just to get us out of auction:deadhorse)

Have you changed the oil & filter before starting the engine ?

Please do not do the 'dhakka start ' again . Its very bad for the drive train .

Sudarshan

@jeepster: Cool. Engine sound seems to be perfect. How was the first drive? Do drive it for few weeks before attempting full restoration.
Thanks for sharing the links.

@milan: your land marshal looks great.

I was looking for MM540 and Armada till now, and now added Marshal to the list, :)

Dear Nikhil,
Slow & steady ALWAYS wins the race. I'll wait to see your restoration coming along, you, just keep on posting.

I wanted to ask you could you find the details of the Trax that can be seen in pics 1, 5 & 10 of the pics you have posted.

Would it be possible to share your contact details? Would love to talk to you in person.. :)

wishes
salil

Congrats Jeepster.. I am really Happy for you.. What kind of modification will you be going for?? Try to go for SPOA with 32x12.5 r15 tyres and 10j rims.. I'll upload few pics of Mods you can go for which will make your ride look awesome.. All the Best..

Congratulations! eager to see the end result of this restoration.

Personally, i had a very bad experience with Armada, may be it was one of a kind. During a trip to Surat in '02, had to stop 7 times due to over heating. And it was run just 33k and almost new.
