2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. EDIT - Launched at Rs. 2.7L Ex Showroom

This thing is HOT!!! Looks a lot like the 2007 650R but it is much better looking than the 650R.

Sweet! I have been contemplating getting either the Ninja 500R or the ZZR600. But looks like I'll have to consider the 250R as well !!
lemme look up the specs right away...

Yeah, I think Kawasaki might have a winner with this 250R. The old 250R was already a good seller for Kawasaki. This must sell like hot cakes now.

Nitin, if you are considering a 500R you should rather look at the 650R. They redesigned the engine for 650R which turned out to be lighter than that of 500R. Also 500R looks really dated.

You are right,tsxei.. I actually got it wrong. I had the 650R in mind, not the 500R. I really liked the ZZR600 & the 650R. The front part of the ZZR looks nice! The 500R sure looks dated..

Very competetive bike for its segment.

This Ninja would be *the* bike for most sportbike riders who want to upgrade from Pulsars etc. Shame about the the fact that we have high duty/tax for imported 'cycles

Indian motorcyle manufacturing will be dominated by low power motorcycles (most of the jobs are here too) for long time, and, frankly It is not as if any Indian manufacturer would be able to market their bikes internationally and recover costs, even if they cloned this bike.

I just wish the government allows duty free import for bikes above, say, 25 bhp output.

This way the domestic manufacturers and their jobs are safe and the enthusiasts too can benefit by getting proper bikes.

Old wine in new bottle....but what a hot looking bottle it is! Yours for about 1.5 lakhs in America.

Under the skin, mechanicals have not changed for probably 20 years.

1.5 Lakhs is cool (would be abt 3 lakhs in India?), better to buy this one than a dated CBR-400.

EDIT: Try various color schemes on it on the website, phew! Ninja looks hot in black!

Why is the rear tyre profile so high ? Was the older one meant for any developing market ?

See, the Ninja 250R was developed in 1986 and ever since got very minimal changes. At that time, such kind of tyres were the norm..

B/w, http://2008ninja250r.com also compares both the bikes. The bike will most probably develop around 45bhp according to the blog

Could be the best thing to happen to the Indian biking scene. But yeah, keep dreaming...

Bajaj better get this and better not rename it as a Pulsar. They can sell this for 1.5L and there will be plenty of buyers, oops i am already in line.

If Bajaj's gonna bring this to India, then count me in too. No matter what they name it as
