Yup, decision done. Grand Vitara is the winner. Just called the dealer and asked him to come over. Making the deal tomorrow.

I also wanted to test drive the Tucson, but the dealership is not showing any interest in sending the TD vehicle after repeated request. I had more interest in it considering it was a diesel engine, but Hyundai apparently doesn't give much commission to sell Tucson. So that chapter is closed.

I called the Maruti dealer on Friday on a whim for a Vitara TD just for comparison with Tucson, I had never considered this car before. Both Tucson and Vitara test drives were scheduled for Monday. The Vitara did come on Monday as promised, while the Tucson failed to come even by Tuesday evening.

So the saga finally comes to an end !
With the way the review and your comments about the Vitara were coming up, it did seem to be a strong choice.

Congrats on the decision, Samurai.

congratulations Samurai for finally making a decision

I've always had my heart, mind and eyes on a SUV but am not being able to realize my dreams due to financial constraints. I am always broke :(

Hopefully this year something will happen.

Is Grand vitara a hit, like Swift and SX4. Till now, I haven't seen any of them on road.

Going by another thread here, Tucson has been discontinued. Right?

By the time we were at the off-road site, all the 3 sales reps had resigned to just enjoy the ride than tell me what to do. They left knowing more about the Vitara abilities than when they came. One of them did say the customary line "This is how a SUV should be test driven".

Considering it could be the only GV on team-bhp, that is very much possible.

The dealer denied that rumour, at least it is not the official position.

Rudra, the conditions up north is better of compare to stuff here down south right? Roads and traffic ie.

Again V6 doesnt really mean it has to guzzle, the old engine is much more refined one as far as i know but yes they brought in the new smaller cc one to improve on the FE front, which was a major crib with all GV owners.

Samurai, is the new Vitara having AWD all the time? Or does it have a selection option (too lazy to refer to auto mags ), if all the while, then yes definitely will drink more. Same holds true for Crv.
