Classic jeep for sale on ebay india

hi ppl, came across this item while browsing. the vehicle is in bombay. the seller claims it has run only 10k odd kms. he is asking for 1.29L which seems to be reasonable.

just thought of putting it up here so some one can check it out if they are interested.

http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...sPageName=WDVW

I would very badly want to buy it. But i am running short of 1L as of now!

dude! just 30k i would have begged or borrowed it. it would be such a waste to let go of it especially if the vehicle is in the condition the seller claims. he says its got only 15k on the odo!!!

all the best dude. dont worry if you are not able to get it. i have plans of buying one some time in november. we'll sweep through the hill regions of kerela looking for one...

i got a few offers for a CJ. they were asking for 1.45 for it. but then was cash strapped...

hey vulken, its not gonna go for 1.3L but maybe a bit higher. i would gladly pay upto 1.75L for a immaculate CJ. let me know if you find some CJ in a good condition for sale in hyderabad ok?

Damn, thats seriously the better of Classics I have seen for sale of late. Very very nice condition.

Just one doubt. He claims that his engine / chassis number is 28078 and is a 1999 make. Well, mine is a 1997 make and my engine / chassis number is 31305. How can a newer make have a lower number? I know for a fact that the entire Classic line had the number format DU i.e. DU31305 in my case.

Buyers would do well to check, cos I may be wrong in this.

Again, phenomenal condition if all paperwork is correct.

These checks are most important when you are picking up a Classic.

1. Get the engine compression checked to see how strong the engine is.

2. The Electricals. Very important even though the circuitry is very very simple. O.E. wiring is a must and not too many alterations should be present.

3. Drive a couple of Jeeps. It will help you to gauge between well-maintained and poorly kept vehicles.

4. Rust : The number 1 enemy for older Mahindras. The bonnet line, fenders, front face and interior flooring are most prone to rust. The radiator also has a not-so-long life.

5. Overheating : Go for a long drive (atleast 50 kms round trip). Overheating issues in the Classic are not that easy to settle. Also make sure that the vehicle is able to start after a long drive.

Feel free to ask me anything specific to a Jeep you guys may have checked out
