Happy New Year BHPians!

The Team-BHP Gallery is the first of several amazing new features that Team-BHP has lined up for you in 2012.

We've got a whopping 6,00,000 (yes, thats 6-lakh) pictures in our collection, diligently uploaded by BHPians like you. Thanks!!.

What better way to drool over super-cars, get dirty off-roading, sneak a peek at scoops, feel nostalgic about vintages and travel the roads of India - than in an easy to browse visual format. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and this community has a high quality discussion for each and every one of those pictures too.

The Team-BHP Photo Gallery!-photogallery-ways-browse.png

4 ways to steer through the Photo Gallery :

1. Category (view photos from a pre-selected list of popular sections and threads)

2. Keyword Search (remember that this ONLY searches within thread titles)

3. Make / Model (the best way to view model-specific pictures from the ownership reviews et al)

4. Latest vs Random ordering (current happenings vs digging up some old gems)

Click the

button to be taken to the forum post containing the picture you're viewing.

Note:

When pictures are added to forum threads, they show up in the gallery in real-time!
Hold your mouse pointer over any thumbnail image to see the title of the thread that it belongs to.
You can right click the thumbnails and open the larger images in a new window / tab if you prefer that to the lightbox
The title search looks for the term you enter even within other words. (Eg. searching for "Aura" will also return "Laura")
Images from pre-2008 (when we didn't store images on our server) couldn't be included in the gallery. Remember to upload images via our attachment system.
We will be working towards a gallery integration for every individual forum thread (fingers crossed).
You'll see a link for "Photos" on the main Nav-bar soon, but for now, use the link in this thread.

A nice pictorial tour through the Team-BHP forum.
Looks brilliant. Also the different categories make it easy to view what you want in particular.

Nice functionality, Rehaan. I believe this functionality will be more useful if used within a thread. Click on any image within a thread, hit left/right key to view prev/next image within that thread. Will be useful for travelogues.

Support Team,

Very innovative with a very direct access to photos only from any thread. Makes search options so much more easier avoiding the text when not required. Great layout.

Pictures talk a lot more than mere words. Having a section like this is going to help immensely to all. Many thanks for bringing out this one.
Also waiting to hear more about the other new features of 2012

Thank you for the initiative, this is a very good feature to have. I used to feel a need for such a feature when browsing through threads like supercars/imports etc. Will this be extended to the mobile t-bhp app as well?

Kudos Rehaan. I don't think any other forum has such a feature.

Suggestion: Can you please provide a selectable option to display number of images per page like 12/25/50. I know it would slow up the process but we can scan through the thumbnails much faster that way. I hope it won't load the server though!
