Team-BHP moving to E2E Networks. EDIT: Done!

Incredibly happy to announce that Team-BHP will be moving to E2E Networks soon!

We've been with our current host since '09. It was a great journey for the first couple of years; however, the last few quarters threw up many challenging situations, where the provided resolution was far from satisfactory. Team-BHP has only been with two hosting providers so far. With the first (2004 - 2009), we outgrew their hardware. With the current, we've outgrown their support.

Team-BHP is banking on E2E Networks for uptime, reliability & speed. Having the servers located closer to you, our forum ought to be running blazing fast. Just how we like our cars .

Special thanks to Tarun Dua from E2E Networks & BHPian Codelust (Shyam Somanadh) for making this happen.

The first round of data migration is complete. Our servers (3 in total) are currently being tuned, with the various software being set up & optimised. Their team is working hard to ensure that we're revving on E2E's engines in a couple of days.

A peek into the Tier III+ Datacenter:

That is some news GTO.
Could you please provide some information about the type of servers we are using. Linux or Windows based etc. As far as I understand from my limited knowledge on servers E2E technology was designed to traverse Network Address Translation (NAT) routers and firewalls and is an alternative to Proxy Servers.

With zero downtimes becoming norms, this definitely sounds like a big step forward.

Thank you and congratulations to you also. Hope we have a longer, better association with E2E Networks.

Waiting for the update on completion of the transfer of data and changeover to E2E.

Hope to have no more downtime from E2E apart from the regular maintenence.

Anurag.

This is indeed good news with the site being hosted on a local Datacenter, should definitley help with better control over the forum/content by providing easier access and accountability.

Hope TBHPs relationship with the datacenter is a long and fruitful one.

Thanks for all the effort and good luck with the remaining part of the migration. Always tricky but it seems its gone very smoothly so far. Well done!

Hey GTO

Not sure about pricing. however how about extreme peace of mind?
Akamai CDN with Amazon AWS ???

You would be able to control cost through the power of cloud and should able to meet the technological requirements off the site.

since many big sites use either of these two I am sure they would be professional and have a good SLA.

Regards

We hope so too and are confident of a strong association. Good thing is, they're a bunch of geeks who understand technology, and are also fans of Team-BHP!

Tricky, you bet. So much to do.

Do note that we're still at the old webhost and should be moving in a couple of days.

An option that was considered, but not for us. Period. We were looking at a fully-managed solution.

We'd rather focus on cars and be hands off the server stuff, leaving that area to professionals. It's not our core competency at all.

This seems to be a great news (from what little I understand about technology) and is definitely a milestone in the growth of this wonderful forum.

If at all in the future, you consider this option, please let me know. Fully managed AWS is available.

Great show today, guys. After much planning and plotting we have pulled it off today. Would not have been possible without how meticulous you guys are about running things here.

It is always a pleasure working with the core team.

Here's to a good and successful partnership with E2E and many more happy, faster loading pages to everyone!
