Yes, this is a known limitation, and we'll be looking at a work-around as a top priority the next time we update the Smartphone skin.

Faced an issue last night. I was trying to send a pm to another member, and the mobile website kept throwing errors. The messages were not showing up in the sent messages folder; so I assumed they were not sent and resent it from my laptop. Today I found that the member received 4 messages from me even though the sent items folder has only 1. I sent the reply from the phone and still it is not showing up in the sent folder.

Anyone else had this issue before? The browser is Chrome on Android.

Quick Reply

• Submitted quick-replies now show up immediately! No need to refresh the page, like earlier.

Private Messaging

• Sent PMs will now be saved/shown in the "Sent" folder.

• PMs will now automatically make links clickable (earlier they'd show as plain text when sent from this skin).

• Minor button spacing change.

Logging In

• "Remember me" is now the default behaviour when logging in. There is no longer an option to toggle it. This helps prevents some funky looping behavior on Chrome, plus it's the sensible option on a single-user personal device like a mobile phone!

• "Log out" link now moved to the footer (consistent with the placement of the "Log in" link). Makes the top navigation bar look cleaner too.

Member Profiles

• Fixed wrapping issue when a large profile image was present. (example)

• Made links for "Find all posts/threads by XYZ" more easily clickable.

• Other small layout changes.

This was causing some issues and hence was removed. It is going to be fixed and added back in the next few days

I am not sure if this is a right thread to post this issue.

Our Team-BHP website has an option to switch to Desktop Site in the mobile version. It is useful.

But when I switch to Desktop version, there is no option to switch it back to mobile version. Usually, I use chrome to visit websites, now I have to use Samsung's browser to see the mobile version of Team-BHP website. I am not able to switch back to mobile version website.


There should be an option to switch back to Mobile site.

Three options:

1) On the bottom left of almost all forum pages on the desktop version is a dropdown menu. Select "BHP Smartphone" from that list.

2) Clear your browser cookies & it will switch back automatically.

3) Use incognito mode.

The behaviour of the Mobile Skin is exactly the same as the desktop website.

What you are shown when you click New Posts / New Topics is a list of only the New posts/topics since the last time you visited (though both have their own cut-offs, if the last time you visited was a long time ago).

When you are logged out, or viewing the site in incognito mode, it will show you a much larger list - since it isn't cutting it off at the time of your last visit.

We've removed that option to keep things simple on the Smartphone skin.

A quick workaround is to go to the menu on your mobile Chrome, and checkbox "Desktop Site" and refresh the page - which will then let you use the Desktop skin to do the search with this option.

Another trivia Q - when seen via the mobile interface, the signatures don't come up. Is this a planned/informed decision to save space on the smaller screens?

I started on this aspect because when I wrote this post using the mobile interface, the post did not have the signature; even when viewed through the desktop interface. Same goes for this current post which was written via the mobile interface, the signature doesn't get populated in the post.

So that's two trivia Qs!

Yes this is planned. Part of making things fit well on a small screen was removing the superfluous stuff.

Another random fact: Signatures do not show when you view the forum as a guest (ie. not logged in). There's SEO reasons for this too.

On the mobile skin these options are hidden. I'll have to check whether the signature checkbox is set to off, or it uses some sort of default setting. Will do that the next time we make improvements to the Smartphone skin
