![]() Broadly, there are three different methods to search the Team-BHP Knowledgebase: 1. Google Custom Search. 2. Basic Forum Search. 3. Advanced Forum Search. Following is a pictorial guideline on each of the three search methods. Last edited by GTO : 28th February 2012 at 12:55.

![]() Google Custom Search Pretty much the simplest way of performing a search on Team-BHP. The integrated google search supports any kind of search style (single search term, combinations, phrases, two character terms and more). Newbies who are unfamiliar with forum softwares, will prefer this search method. 1. Use the search box on the "top right hand corner" of each page. Enter your search query and click on the arrow: ![]() 2. BINGO! The search results. If you wish, you can further refine your search by clicking on any of the labels (marked in red in the image below): ![]() Last edited by GTO : 20th March 2012 at 10:17.

![]() Basic Forum Search 1. Click on the "search" link from the navbar: ![]() 2. Enter your query here (e.g. Toyota). Remember that your search term must contain a minimum of 3 characters (e.g. BMW). If you wish to search for a combination of words (e.g. Mahindra Jeep), enter the search terms with a + sign in between (e.g. Mahindra + Jeep). This command will search for threads containing ALL of the words entered. If you only want to search for keywords in thread titles, check-mark the "Search Titles Only" box. This is a great way to get accurate results: ![]() 3. Clicking on the "Go" button will take you to the results page: ![]() Last edited by GTO : 28th February 2012 at 12:51. Reason: Updating to include "Seach titles" checkbox.

![]() Advanced Forum Search 1. Click on "Advanced Search" from the navbar search button. Or go straight to the Advanced Search Page: ![]() 2. This command will search for threads containing ALL of the words entered: ![]() 3. You may choose to run a search within entire posts or only thread titles from here as well: ![]() 4. VOILA! ![]() ADDITIONAL FILTERS : You may impose additional filters on your search query. All of the following options are available on the search page: - Search by user name - Find threads with "at least" or "at most" a certain number of replies - Find posts from a certain time period (yesterday, a week / month / year ago etc.) - Various sorting options (alphabetical, number of replies / views, thread start / last post date etc.) - Show results as threads or individual posts - The option of searching only some forums in particular - Option to "Save Search Preferences" ![]() Last edited by GTO : 28th February 2012 at 12:43.
