Hey, I tried the Jopasu which my friend had - and observed swirls on using it (He uses it everyday and it's 6 months old). Do you get that too? Eons back I had used the California Duster, which was very good, and Meguiars also had one large/heavy version which has been discontinued now.

I have been using Jopasu for years now and do not tend to pick up swirls. Yes they may be few light marks over a year but that is something that can be treated every 12 months.

Silencer painting - silencer of my GV was in a bad state! discolored, paint over spray at some place and generally a shade of red! All this thanks to years of under body neglect by previous owner and due to the fact that the car was used in a coastal town.

Came across an offering at 3M which offered to rejuvinate the silencer pipes and box and rate was also pretty reasonable at around 1200 bucks. This weekend i tried this and have to admit, am very much satisfied with the solution they offered. First they cleaned the pipe and the box, then lightly sanded, one final wipe and then it was painted using the spray can.

I decided to get the 3M Anti-Rodent treatment done.



Went to 3M Car Care HSR Layout even though there is a 3M about 400 metres from my house. Why? Because even though I dont go there regularly now(since they stopped the full car wash), I have great memories from the team there.

They made me wait about 10 minutes while they finished up washing another car during which Pradeep and I were reminiscing about how regularly I used to come there.

They soon parked my car in the bay, sprayed some water, used a lot of APC to clean the engine bay as best as they could. Finished off with compressed air being blown through a nozzle to dry the engine bay as much as possible.


The pic below shows how the engine bay looked before applying the spray. Quite clean and nice



Post the application of the spray, it looked even better. SHINY! Wonder how long it will remain like that!






3M says this spray will last 6 months. Some friends are sceptical. I havent had any major issues with rats on this car but prevention is better than cure.

This treatment costs Rs 1086/-

I am quite happy with my overall experience with this branch of 3M. I now can only hope that the product itself works as expected.

Last weekend we had the Bangalore Offroaders Annual OTR and it was time to take the GV out for some fun. I was little worried with the black shade and how it will be after all the trail driving. The terrain is filled with dried up branches which usually leaves a good deal of scratches. Long story short, the vehicle took to the trail surprisingly well, in the process the weakest link aka the road tyre took the toll!. Lost one of the Good Years to a rock...

And this is how it looked on Sunday lot of dust and fine scratches all around. Could not leave it like this, so took to the friendly HSR store.






And the team started with a foam wash.


And that revealed the scratches!


I was in double mind, to go for complete detailing or just a wax. Some of the scratches were deep (as seen above), but then I need to upgrade the tyres and get some test runs done. So kept the detailing plan on hold and went with just basic wax job.

And am very happy with the outcome, at least from far you can't make out the scars lol and I guess that is fine for now. For an 8 year old car with a repainted body (prev owner did the deed to cover up scraches!), Tara the GV looks decent I guess.







Thanks 3M HSR team. A PPF job would have been terrific, but then the surface has lot of flaws to start with, to make sense for PPF.

So, I can safely say that either this treatment doesnt work or it has worn off.

The below images are of my engine bay yesterday.

You can clearly see the footprints of the rat/rats walking around on the engine cover.

I will get the treatment done again and keep an eye on it.

I was there yesterday - it seems to be shutting down. THere was a notice saying the ground floor was available for rent & most of the stuff that they sell was not there.

If I had a pre-paid package, I would try and ensure it is used up right around now

Had been to 3M HSR today for a wash.

Considering the fact that I had spent most of my weekends here with Sidhu & gang way back in 2012, the news of the place shutting down had taken me aback.


As usual, the boys did a good job with the wash. And typical of Bangalore, within 400 meters of leaving 3M the Rain Gods had to make their mark.

I had been to the HSR store today to get my A-Star's exterior detailed with Paint Sealant Advanced treatment. They are going to complete 10 years of operation hence the renovation. The place is open and functioning normally.

The car had quite a few scars due to a tree falling just behind the tailgate and scratches from driving through Coorg's narrow estate roads. Not to mention the beauty spots gifted by Blore traffic. The previous detailing was a ceramic coating in Apr 2016 at Ultimate Detailerz.

I was the first customer and drove right up the ramp onto the shop floor. Work was done quickly in 3 hours without hurrying. I am glad they used masking tape. The MF cloths looked clean. There was no horsing around. The guy on the rotary polisher deserves appreciation. He was focused on the task form start to finish for about an hour without any conversation! The treatment was completed to my satisfaction and attention to detail was good.

The store manager time and again explained the other services they offer but was not pushy. His interaction with other customers appeared fair, sometimes recommending against a product/treatment since the car did not require it.

I have been planning to visit this store since a long time and now having tried it I would recommend it.

A Saturday morning well spent and a pleasant start to a 3 day weekend

The store has been taken over by a new owner who is passionate and has 2 more 3M stores in Pune which he runs. He knows what it takes and has already renovated the current showroom with new lights, interiors and equipment.

Pradeep is still the store manager. Overall looks positive and improved vs before.

Gave my innova here yesterday for detailing. As no detailing or polishing was done on the car for 3+ years, Pradeep suggested that i go for paint shine and shield treatment. i opted for a one year package and left the car here yesterday. Am looking at the car now and its just wow!!!!!
The shine, the perfection in work is awesome. Great job guys. Keep up the good work.
