They wash the under-body and leave it to dry or force dry it by the methods told by Jaggu

They do leave it for some time + blow dry + wipe some parts + cover up some parts etc before spraying. But no it's not bone dry.

Those who did the under body coating, is sound deadening charged extra? How much does it cost? Does it have an impact on the NVH in the car ?

I think Sound deadening comes as a bonus with the under body coating. Don't think it'll be charged extra. Cost depends on size of the car. I also got a quote of approximately 3.7k when I went there once.

No, the sound deadening is not charged extra, but comes as a bonus only when you choose the compound, which costs more than the basic one.

Nope,

Anti Rust Coat itself acts as a Sound Deadening agent, That's all.
There is nothing additional to Anti Rust Coat.

Finally my car got the much awaited exterior treatment from 3M car care. I got the Essential exterior treatment done on my car which includes foam wash, waxing and polishing.

This pampering to my car gave her showroom shine back and it was really amazing to see the glass finish shine back on my car.

Wind Splitter, we met the other day at the 3M Center in HSR Layout.

The Foam wash itself is quite good. You did see the other Punto which was not cleaned for a while. It looked very good after the wash.

Let me post the pics after I have a word with Subramanya.

I got the 5 year warranted under body treatment done this sunday from this place. They did it well, washed the underbody and applied the coating after drying it all. Took around 90 minutes for the job to complete.

The noise level has come down after the treatment.

There are 10 free inspections once every 6 months which can be used for reapplying the coat if worn off. (seeing the warranty card, the labour is free, but we need to pay the charges for the coating material, Need to see after a 6 month visit).

I was charged 3195/- for my i20.

Also quoted a price of 2995/- (4995/- for vehicles more than 2 months old) for paint protection for the new i20, with 1 year assurance, I was undecided then, so did not go for it. Can someone suggest whether is worth going for this one?

I dont think you have to pay for the coating material .Its also included under warranty.What is the point in having the warranty for just the labour?

Point #3 states that the treatment along with the labour cost has to be borne by the owner.

The anti-rust coating acts like a sealant. The material is a like a rubber coating which covers the under-body and almost covers all the gaps from the bottom(atleast to some extent). This behaves like a NVH item. Because of this there will be reduction in the outside noise entering the cabin.

Even I used to get lot of noise before the anti-rust coating. After this application the sound has reduced almost 85%. Now I need to listen carefully to hear the noise.
