3M Car Care (RMV 2nd stage, Bangalore)

I had been to the HSR layout 3M car care once before but because of the crowd of maybe because of the lack of interest no one from the store was interested in explaining the features or services they
offered. Was little disappointed.

This Sunday I went to the RMV 2nd stage 3M store. They were quite busy but as soon as I entered the store I was greeted by Mr Santhosh who is the Store in Charge.
He told me about the various services and treatments offered by them. He was very patient with me and answered all my stupid questions. Finally zeroed in on the under-body treatment.

Saw a VW Polo which was recently detailed, Once the detailing is complete the car is wrapped in this (See picture) 3m plastic until the customer comes to pick up the car.

They have rules and procedures. I like rules and procedures, Before the job is started the car is inspected just like the A.S.S. All the dents, marks and scratches are marked and a copy of the job card is given to the customer.

The seats and door pads in my car had some black Grease marks, Mr Santhosh did a small part of the door pad to show how it will look once cleaned up. I was stunned! The door pad looked brand new again!
Will get this done sometimes once the car is serviced.

2 types of Anti rust underbody coating are offered.

Rs 3195 with 5 Year warranty (Sound deadening)
Rs 1695 with 2 Year warranty (Non sound deadening)
The 5 year one is much-much thicker than the regular 2 year coating.

I went with the 2 year warranty Anti rust coating.

The process they follow is as per 3M specifications,
The car is first taken to the wash bay and the underbody is washed with high pressure water.
Next step involves putting the car on a ramp and cleaning the underbody with high pressure air and rags to remove dirt and excess water.
Once everything is dry the main process starts.
The whole silencer, wheels, bumpers, and some body parts of the car are properly covered with plastic sheets and masking tape.
Everything is checked once again and then the under coat is applied. Once the job is complete the the store in charge/owner comes and inspects the work. The boy doing the job had missed 2-3 places which the store in charge noticed. A quick spray on these areas and the job was given the thumbs up! The car is left to dry a bit, in the mean time all the plastic and masking tape is removed. Any excess spray is cleaned with a special 3m cleaning solution.

I went in at 3.30PM Job was started by 4.00. Promised delivery time 6.30PM
Car was ready by 6.25PM!
Went around a bit spoke to the owner and came to know that he is also an enthusiast like the rest of us and follows team-bhp closely.
Just love the professionalism at this store!

Got paint protection done on my car around 5 months ago at this place. Loved the end result. Cost is a bit on the higher end, but worth it.

Just spoke with Amit and i'll be heading over to the shop on the weekend. Need to buy some wash n wax and some mitts for my bike.

Although the HSR outlet is close to my workplace, i dont find the time to drop in.

Hopefully they maintain the same level of efficiency for years to come by. This store and the HSR outlet belongs to the same person.

Are you sure both the store are run by the same person ? I think they are run by different people.

Also they don't sell any 3m detailing products.

The HSR layout branch is called Centre Racerz, while this one is Dirt Blasters

Its on 80 feet road, the same road as the restaurant Neel and Maruti Nexus service station.

Just trying to ensure i go to the right place, which has a good feedback and don't get un-necessarily ripped off. HSR is closer to my house and i can go there on one of the weekends.

captain slow thanks for putting this up. You beat me to starting this thread, had paid them a visit a few weeks back for a make over of a friends car and was suuuupppaaaa impressed.The place is really clean and well kept and a lot of attention to details.

You really got me in splits with this

Riju, it's actually called a car bra.

Mostly its black vinyl cover over the hood to protect the paint from stones and gravel thrown off from vehicles in front.

See this. Pretty common in the U.S. Haven't you see it on the sedans and trucks there?

Mayankjha, This outlet is owned and operated by Mr Amit while the other (HSR) is operated by Sidhu .
Both places are good, but I prefer this branch as I found the staff and owner to be a little more customer friendly.

Some Miscommunication somewhere

Just spoke to him, he tells me he is not the owner of the HSR branch. I think he was driving when you called him up the other day.

I hope the owner of the HSR outlet doesn't get upset after reading this

Congrats to the store owner in going for a the 3M car care centre and living up of the service offered along with the 3M brand image.

3M has launched the 3M CCCs at the right time under the right man incharge. Mr. Vishesh.

nice to see DIY Meguiar's products sold from the 3M CCCs.

To what is written in this thread, my experience is exactly the opposite.

Agreed the place is clean and look a lot more ventilated (read as more light). Now whatever was enquired they showed more interest only to sell whatever the reason was.

I was definitely put off with this attitude, more so when Amit forced me to accept on certain things which I was definitely not comfortable with. I think the RMV 3M center has lost a customer in me.

However, the experience was more pleasant with the HSR Layout center. Siddhu showed a lot of patience and answered the queries satisfactorily. Not even once during any query did he push to sell the products.

Though I live in RT Nagar, I definitely dont mind driving down to HSR layout for any work.

I visited today and the initial experience was good.
Mr. Santosh was courteous enough to explain me everything (details are the same what Captian Slow has mentioned).

However, he also mentioned that the rates are different based on small, medium and large segment cars.

There is also a "Front wind shield film" (he mentioned something like CR70 FWS, I think) which cost 7500/-
It does not look like your typical sun film in that it looks much closer to a day and night sun glasses. But it does significantly reduce the glare and feels much cooler (they had a revolving box with different shades for sun films, fitted around a big light source ; which showed me the difference in heat when you place your hand before it).

Is it worth going for this wind shield film considering the heavy incline of Figo’s wind shield and it’s high tendency of glare ?
