Hope everyone's had a good, looong weekend

Had been to the Trend Auto over this weekend for a list of body work / touch-ups for my Swift:
  1. Rear Right Fender - dent (big) removal and painting
  2. Rear Left Fender - minor scratches and painting
  3. Front Fender (both right and left) - minor scratches and painting
  4. Rear Left Door + Quarter panel below C Pillar - dent (medium) removal and painting

The quote given was 13000 INR + taxes.

In addition to the above, glass polishing for front windscreen (need this since there are some small scratches and hard water marks) was quoted at 1750 INR; overall body polish with Wurth was 800 INR.

So, all in all, it comes to around 17500 INR (with taxes)

When I inquired at RNS Motors on Hosur Road, the quote for 1, 2, 3 & 4 above was also 13000 INR + taxes; They dont do either windscreen polish or overall body polish.

Now, I need help from the experienced folks here in the forum - given that the quote for the majority of the body work is the same both at Trend and RNS is the same, does it make more sense to get this done at M.A.S.S or at Trend?

PS - Tried negotiating with Trend (agreed that I am not an overly good negotiator), but this is the price that it came up to.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers!

I got similar job matching done at Trend last year. If its minor fender bender, they are good.
Since you have a long list which includes panel painting, I would advice to stick to M.A.S.S.

Better to get the work done at the service centre. In my experience, the paint matching and quality at the service centre is much better than Trend. I did not find much difference in the price as well. So better to stick to the service centre.

The quality of work will be better if the job is done by RNS. From my experience, Trend Guys are not very cheap. The price is very close to the quote given by the A.S.S center.

So as suggested by other bhpians it is better to stick to RNS.

All the best

Does anybody have updates on this outfit and if they still maintain their quality of service? I am shifting to bellandur next month & would like to have a good FNG nearby.

Do they also do oil change, electrical works etc as well? Or just a body shop?

How to know if the quote given by MSIL SA is genuine? What could be the approx repair cost for such a situation? Pl advice.
This should hardly cost between 2k to 2.5k. Not worth claiming the insurance.

Thanks. Can someone recommend a good FNG for these within easy reach of Total mall / bellandur flyover? For all those non bodywork related minor things where taking it to the Honda ASS just isn't worth it.

Hm about 6 km away. And run by inactive tbhpians who also happen to be Honda specialists? Superb. Thanks.

I decided to pay Trend Automobiles a visit today. There were two dents on my i20 CRDi thanks to crazy bikers in Bangalore. One was a mango sized depression in the front corner of the rear wheel arch caused by a biker who suddenly decided to cross the road before my car had passed. The second dent was on the front wheel arch where another biker came and hit me and got his front wheel wedged in between my front wheel and the mudguard while I was taking a U turn. Thankfully in both the cases the paint was intact because the impact from the bikes were through their front wheels. Both were fixed to my satisfaction for a very nominal amount. Looking at the fixed areas very closely one can make out minute bumps (looks something like a skin rash ) but you would have to know exactly what and where to look for that. It is so much better than a dent remaining on the body. Let the pictures speak for themselves:

Re: Body Repair & Painting, Glass Repair, Detailing etc. - Trend Automobiles (Bangalore)

Team , need a suggestion, my colleague bought a i20 Elite a week back and as he is new to driving in India had a minor incident. There is a gash on the left side of the car ( see pic), need some suggestions to decide what to do.

Option 1: Is this repairable by body shops like Trend
Option 2: claim insurance and get it done by the dealer?

This needs to be tinkered and painted. Both Trend and dealer can do it. Since the car is pretty new, suggest you claim insurance and get it done by dealer.

This is a very minor issue. Tinkering and painting a running board will cost very less. There is no point in claiming insurance, loosing the NCB and placing a remark in the vehicle service history that the car has visited body shop for a paint job.

Take it to Trend. They will do a good job for you. Do keep us updated.

Sorry, This is not a minor issue. Running board repair is a complex process.Places like Trend and Sai colorium are most probably going to fill that dent with putty. I had experienced this from Sai colorium. Please take to authorized service center and do proper tinkering.
