Refill Nitrogen Gas - what PSI?

I have filled Nitrogen recently after I bought all new tyres

A quick question.

1. How often do I need to check the pressure now?
2. If the recommended air pressure is 30 psi do I keep the same for Nitrogen or 1 / 2 PSI lower? Because the found it little bouncy when I filled 30 PSI

Nitrogen now available in Koramangala. Green cars has it but as they are known they charge for everything. Rs. 10 + taxes for top-up so I paid 55 buck when I got my tyre pressure checked!

When I asked him how is it that they charge for nitrogen top-up, the service guy was like "who gives Nitrogen for free?" I told him, all maruti dealerships to maruti owners. They only charge for new fillings!

If you are going from Sony World Jn towards NGV, Green cars will come on the right hand side. You will have to take a U-turn at the Indian oil petrol pump and then take the left at Legends of Rock. Its right after Legends of Rock (Second building on the left). I hope that the directions are clear

I dont keep a track of it but maybe once in 2-3 months (mainly before I head out on a long journey!). Thats cos my car is standing at home all through the week and I only use it (extensively) over the weekends. So I am sure some amount is lost every week. But I am very sure its not every month.

You stole my words . I was about to post that.
I monitored it for last 2 months and found that i have to go for refill once in 20 days. If that is that case i can as well go for normal air. Does not sound VFM as of now .
I am going to monitor for next 20 days and then will switch to normal air.
Any Inputs ?

I agree with you, Nitrogen filling started off as a fad and is now like a scam by petrol pumps just to earn more money.

Regular air is anyways around 78% Nitrogen , so how much more can you benefit by the so called Nitrogen filling ?

if you have a 2 psi drop in pressure per 7 days running, then I think its not worth the effort.

The other factors for going Nitrogen like less weight, less inflammable etc do not add that much value add given the pain and cost of re-filling.

Absolutely, i am also thinking that we can buy a good portable air pump and use at home itself.

Re: Place to Refill Nitrogen Gas in Bangalore

Guys,

Theres one HP bunk next to Cosmos mall while going towards ITPL where they do the nitrogen filling. I have been suggested my many friends to switch to Nitrogen but I decided not to go for it. Instead, I went for a portable foot pump thats doing wonders for almost 7Yrs now

Cheers,
KTP

Re: Place to Refill Nitrogen Gas in Bangalore

Guys, I have a query about Nitrogen. I completed the 24 month service of my Alto yesterday and the MSM guys have filled Nitrogen in the tyres after doing wheel rotation/balancing/alignment. I came to know of this only while leaving and thought it was complimentary, but saw a charge of Rs 125.00 for this after reaching home!

a) How periodically should one check the pressure if Nitrogen is filled? I check air pressure once a week for free at the Shell station, so this is a waste of money. But having paid Rs 125.00, I don't want to waste it and am curious to see if it really works!

b) I will definitely not refill Nitrogen @ Rs 25.00 per wheel and will go to Shell for filling air once the "wait" period is over! Will I have to deflate the tyres fully before refilling or can I just fill air as usual?

I did not notice any difference in ride or handling or tyre noise after this, and would not have known about it had they not told me!
