Seriously, I am considering taking a break during work and getting at least petrol filled from Shell @ Hosur Road.
Been filling up Petrol (regular, not premium) from Shell @Bellandur ORR for 2 months now. Huge difference. My A-Star AT that is used purely for city drives used to give max 12.5kmpl before (almost always filled at Vrishabhadri before); now I get 13.75-14kmpl consistently. If anything, the A/C usage is lot more, so I'd have expected a drop in mileage! My Enfield Classic 350 gives 35kmpl usually in city; this is up to 43kmpl on Shell. Neither vehicle has been serviced in the last 2 months; just that fuel is different. A-Star is measured on tankful to tankful method, bike is based on Rs.500/- fill to reserve. These are averages on 2-3 fills.

Two petrol bunk I can vouch for in Bangalore, and have been their customer for decades. Cauvery petrol bunk on Lalbagh West Gate, and the bunk on St. Marks Road. These two never disappoint.

I have been filling up at the same bunk for almost 5-6 months now (though I have to take a detour on my way to office.. Koramangala to Whitefield) and I am getting somewhere b/w 11.5 - 14 km/l (based on tankful to tankful method) on my Accent. I even got the Shell card (0.5% Cashback )

The only thing is that even when I tried Shell premium for about 2-3 months consistently but did not feel a difference in mileage when compared to regular.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

I live on Sarjapur road, near ORR and commute to office on ORR itself.
Any COCO outlets available in my vicinity ? I fill up at 27th main HSR BP pump, but would like to know whether any COCOs available nearby.
PS : I never fill up for "x rupees" - its always tankful to tankful fillup after getting down from the car, and eyes stayed hooked to the meter after 0.

You are mentioning about this bunk ? Apart from that and IOC bunk inside HSR layout I guess there are no other descent bunks near by.

Other option is to fill up at Shell bunk located near Citrus hotel on ORR.

The nearest COCO bunk is IOC at BTM layout.

For some reason my Fiesta 1.4 TDCi does not appreciate IOC Diesel these days. It feels rough most times after I fill up at IOC bunk inside HSR layout. The diesel from BP on 27th main and shell feels alright.

Try any HPCL pump(hint: the one at the ''Y'' junction before St.Johns bus stop in Hosur road).

1.4 tdci likes HP diesel very much.

There is also one more IOC COCO in Koramangala just opposite to Koramangala bus stop. I have filled diesel couple of times and quality is good there.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

Posting after a very long time.

I am travelling to Hassan and nearby tourist spots this weekend in my Petrol Chevy Beat.
I would start with a tankfull of Shell Unleaded Petrol, which would suffice for about 450kms. The entire trip will be of about 600 kms.

I would probably need to tank up again on my return journey.
Is there any Shell Pumps outside Bangalore or on the highway ?

If not, where else can I fill Petrol on the Hassan route ?

I haven't seen any Shell pumps in the Hassan route. I have filled from a bunk (which has a CCD) after the Bellur Cross toll gate twice and found the quality to be decent. I usually fill at a BP COCO bunk near Uppinangady if I take Hassan route to Mangalore. You better ask this question in the "Art of travelling between Bangalore - Mangalore" thread and expect better and quick answers .

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

Here is my experience with Bangalore fuel pumps
Diesel: I will Mostly go with HP pumps. The ones I use are Brookfields (adjacent to COSMOS mall towards ITPL); COCO pump Old Madras Road (little after Whitefield Honda, left handside when heading towards ITPL); Pink Petrol Pump,Gunjur
Petrol: Shell @Ramagondana halli, Varthur road; Shell @ Visveswarayya industrial area, little after Graphite India Signal.

For the last eight years I have not faced any issues with the above listed pumps

You can find all Shell stations in India from their website:
http://www.shell.com/ind/products-se...n-locator.html

I did not find any on the route to Hassan.

On the main topic, there's a brand new Indian Oil pump named "Sri Rajahamsa Fuels" on Manipal County road, off Singasandra, just after manipal County resort. I've verified quantity check using the 2-litre bottle fillup method.

My Rapid TDI seems to be giving lesser FE compared to Shell diesel (I may have been running a bit low on tyre pressure). The i10 though seems to be happy with the petrol.

Sorry, This is not the one I was mentioning. The one I go is Indian Oil COCO. I am rewording my previous statement

Diesel: I will Mostly go with HP pumps. The ones I use are Brookfields (adjacent to COSMOS mall towards ITPL); Pink Petrol Pump,Gunjur. I will also refuel at Indian Oil COCO pump on Old Madras Road (little after Whitefield Honda, left hand side when heading towards ITPL)

Thanks for correcting me!

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps in Bangalore

Is shell diesel recommended?. Please correct me if I am wrong. Heard somewhere that only the regular diesel from Ioc/bpcl/hpcl is better. The premium diesel from these companies and shell should be avoided. Really do not know the correctness of this statement. But would like to get it clarified.
