Primary LC Buying/Alignment/Balancing experience.

After extracting 58,910 kms from Michelin MXV8s, our SwifDy was upgraded to the Primary LC's today at Madhu's.

Fixed an appointment for 10am but missed it, by almost an hour, due to heavy traffic and new diversions (atleast for me) at Trinity and Garuda Mall. Ravi was waiting for me and he knew exactly what I wanted. Bought 4 tyres as I never rotated the spare, and was given a couple of neat 2011 calendars by Michelin.

I have to say that the guys were very quick and neat on the job. The tyre change, balancing, alignment and billing were all done in 35 mins flat. The guys always sported a smile (even when working) and never seemed irritated, when I bothered them with too many things to do and check.

It was a pleasant(exceedingly) experience for me.

ThankYou Nikhil, You(r) guys are doing a wonderful job man.

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Despite of a couple of bad experiences sometime back, all I have are good things to say about Madhus now. I had been to the Langford rd shop the other day, and I liked the way things are handled now.

The technicians and the supervisor went that extra mile to make sure to perfect the alignment, as off-late the front tyres had uneven wear outs.
I was worried, if I may need to add/remove shims, thinking it might be the camber that's out!!

The supervisor went on to say that it was one of the best readings that he could achieve for a Bolero. Those words made me feel good indeed!!

All my service centers (Honda, Hyundai, Lancer) know that my standard instructions are "No Wheel Alignment - No Balancing - No Rotation". I also regularly visit for Nitrogen top-ups which are free.

I never asked for discount because this kind of service does not warrant any.

Yes.... I agree with all here. They are one of the best. If only some of our manufacturers can learn from this service. I am sure many of the manufacturers' folks log in here to check the pulse of the market.

Nikhil..... Hope to bump into you one of these days. Keep up the good work. Thanks to you and your team.
Thank you Naresh Really appreciate your kind words. Hope to definitely meet sometime soon.

The entire time, the staff member who took charge of my car, kept me informed of the procedures and how long they would take. He was very courteous and helpful.

Instead of asking for a discount, i made sure i left a generous tip for the staff that handled my car, like i always do.
Glad that you're a satisfied customer. Please dont hesitate to contact me in case of any issues.

This was my first visit.

I booked a slot for 11 AM on 14 Jan 2010. Being a holiday i had spare time. At 10.30 i got the pleasant surprise as Mr Moses, their front office manager who called to politely confrim whether i will be coming or not. I confirmed and was there at 11.30.

The boys on the floor were excellent, quick and courteaous. I was able to see myself what and how these guys are doing the alignment, balancing and rotation. No need to repeat that the shop has latest technology as well. This was the frst time i was getting it done after i bougt Scorpio in Oct. Since some wheels were taking extra weight (penalty for not algning the wheels after first 5K KMs which the guys in SKS Automobiles said not requiired when i gave the vehicle for first service ) they advised me correctly what is to be done. Mr David, the service manager was very helpful with his sound advise as well.

The billing and payment fromalities was quick - got dsicount being a BHPian - and the comlete activity did not last more than 30-45 Mins.

Overall experince was Fantastic. I have now become a regular with them and realise how foolish i was to depend on the dealers for getting these activities done.
Glad to be of help.

Spoke to Ravi and Nikhil on the tyre availability and fixed a 9 am appointment. Was there in time.

Service : As usual excellent service and great attention to details. They removed the old tyres looked for rust removed them using a file and cleaned the inner surface of the rim before fitting the new tyre. Exercise repeated for all rims (5 of them)

Promptness : At 9:00 Ravi was already waiting for me and man the complete job fitting 5 tyres, balancing and alignment was done in less than 45 mins flat

Normally I always complain about something or the other (nit pickings). This time I don't have any. Infact they took care to place the rims on top of the old tyres to prevent them from being scratched.

I was pleased and left the place extremely happy

Job well done and keep up the good service.

Nikhil spread the good word among the staff to keep their motivation levels high.
Will definitely spread the good word Sateesh! I plan on going to the office one of these days and showing the newer posts on this thread to my entire team.

And once again, even though it's water under the bridge, I would like to apologise for the shoddy service earlier.

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

My Sparky alloy wheels and my friend's BEAT tyres are bought from Madhus and had nice experience dealing with them. I reported some quality problems with the wheels and they replaced the same under warranty that too without any hurdles.

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Just did the balancing and alignment for my WagonR today.

Thank you Nikhil for the fantastic experience. The mechanics were very quick, pleasant and had good sense of what they are doing.. Though there were many cars, I could get in done without much delay as they were well organized.

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Just got back from Madhu's on langford road, Had called on the given number for an appointment, They said I could come in immediately, And by about 2.30-2.45 I was there.
I had to get 2 new tyres for my Hyundai getz, Since i'd changed the front two tyres recently somewhere else and they were of goodyear, I decided to stick with goodyear this time around as well( it was a different tread, but same size, so i can live with that)
I am not sure to whom i spoke to out there, but i told him i travel on roads where the metro construction is happening and i want a tyre that wouldn't puncture too often and he said goodyear would do the job. I paid 3.5k each for 2 tyres
What I liked:
Not pushy
Extremely friendly/courteous staff,all smiling faces
Really fast at what they do, I was out of the place after changing two tyres, balancing all four, and alignment within about 45mins!!
What I didn't like:
Absolutely nothing, what's not to like about this place?
There's a reason this place has 6pages of good feedback about it.
There's a reason you should go to a specialist for each part of car care! Had I got the same thing done at a normal car accessories shop who sells tyres as well, he would've easily taken alot more time, would have to get the alignment/balancing separately, and the experience couldn't have matched!
I'm not sure whether i got a good deal or not, experts could comment, but i know for a fact, that if i paid a premium, It's well worth the price!
Got the alignment done equally quick, and emission while I was at it
All in all, excellent experience, and i may not have to buy tyres too often, but you definitely got a repeat customer for alignment of other cars in the house!
Have taken a few pictures while i was there, will upload them in awhile
Cheers and keep up the good work!

Exactly, Nikhil's team is really really good .
I remember i got my regular balancing and alignment done @ 5k mark and it took them around 30 mins to do complete job, and they also showed me that there saw a slight dent on my newly bought Neo alloys ( which was eventually got replaced by NEO ) .
Planing to visit them this Saturday and get the balance and alignment done again.

Cheers

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Based on the reviews from this thread I wanted to go to Madhus for tyre change for my SX4.

So I called up Madhus today and spoke to one Mr. Ravi and he quoted 6600 for Jks where as the same tyre at Sai Iyengars Indiranagar was at 5300.

I asked Ravi why there is so much higher price when compared to Sai. He said that Madhus are not JK dealers so they cannot match Sai price, but he said he can give good deal on Goodyear.

Anyway this time I went with Sai Iyengars and couldn;t experince Madhus service.

But Ravi was very courteous and answer all my queries in a professional manner.

Hope will try Madhus next time.

Visited Madhu's today for regular alignment and balancing. As usual, prompt in getting the work done quickly. In fact, pretty quick actually, around 30 mins for alignment, balancing, emission testing, wheel rotation and Nitrogen filling. Very good work by your folks, Nikhil.

Hi,

There seems to be a slight miscommunication. JK does NOT cost 6600. It is around 5600 or so. 6600 is Goodyear Assurance. I think Ravi made a mistake in communicating to you that our JK price would have been around 5600 but we could not have matched the 5300 price anyway. As of now, JK price has also gone up and is priced at closer to 6,000/-.

In any case, I thank you for the feedback!

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words.

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Nikhil, Have a question for you. As your the resident expert on rubber, wheel alignment and balance.

My Cruze went for its 10K service that included a wheel alignment and balance. Post the service I see the steering wheel is not dead straight as it used to be prior to this service.

It is maybe an 1/2 or 1 inch to the left and i am pretty uncomfortable due to this change.

Is this due to improper wheel alignment and balance? How do i rectify the same?

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

Nikhil - apologies for my answer to a query addressed to you :-)

mobike - yes it should be improper alignment, during alignment the technician should set (lock) the steering wheel straight then do the alignment, here I assume the steering lock wasnt done and due to which the steering was misaligned during tightening.

Nikhil - please correct if I am wrong.

Cheers

Re: Wheel Alignment/Balancing : Madhus Enterprises (Langford rd, Bangalore)

A mixed bag of experience:
Finally after 3 months of procrastination, decided to upgrade my santro's tyres and alloys, called Nikhil a day before to get the confirmation on Michelin Xm1+, went there at 8:30 AM, spoke to Ravi, he said Michelin is there and they are 3 months old, finalized on the alloys, when the guys got the tyres, the Michelin looked as if it was used for some time, when I asked Ravi, he assured me that they are brand new, then I asked him if he's got the stickers his answer was no, and when I checked at the MFG date the tyres were almost 8 months old as against 3 months which he told me initially, though their reputation is too good, still didn't feel convinced about the Michelin and the guys were clueless, and I was desperate to get the tyres changed, had to settle for Yoko's.

bottom line: I was happy that I finally changed the tyres , would have been happier if I got the Michelin, nevertheless, enjoying the drive so far.

As they say " we believe in God, rest bring data", just watch out for those nitty things.
