Leather Upholstery & Steering Grips: Devraj / Karthik Leather Arts (Bangalore)

Hi Guys,
After searching quite a bit, we (my friend prashu and me) found this guy on JC road who does all kinds of leather work for you car. I got done a hand stitched steering wheel grip and he did a great job, its comparable to a company fitted one which most of the high end car variants have. I will upload a few pictures soon, he has templates for most of the cars and hand stitches it.

Here are the details:

Name: Devraj.
Contact No: 9964031960.

We have got it done for three cars now, prashu's palio, my vista and another friends figo and all of us are happy with the work. He will charge you 800 bucks if you contact him directly. If you walk into any shops on JC road, they will charge you around 1200 bucks and in-turn get it done through the same guy. So its better you call him directly.

Google location is here, on the top floor of the Prime Automobile shop.

Any idea if he has it for OHC VTEC? Does he do the machine stitching as well?
The steering cover of my OHC is torn due to a lot of usage :(

There was a thread i was reading here which said that pro-grip leather was not a good quality leather however for that price range it may be good.

What leather does the JC road guy (devraj) use ?

I will upload photos either today or tomorrow latest. He specializes in leather work, anything from steering grip, gear knobs, dashboard/door inserts, seat cover etc.

One of my friends was about to get this done and i stopped it, i doubt if you would get pure leather at this cost and that too from Pro Grip and also the fit and finish of the job. Can you post pics and we can decide on the quality?

Am not sure what leather he uses, he works out of a small place inside a house on JC road (he will take you there for choosing the color). You would really love when you see the figo's grip, trust me its come out much better than mine and its black in color

Guru bhaai: The top arc of the leather looks like not attached properly (with comparison to VISTA top arc). Is that a picture error ???

I agree, apart from the above, the fit and finish is great

It looks like top Arc shape of steering is like that, you can see bulge on both side?

Thanks for the information Guru. I like the tight fit and finish. The steering usually has a bulge for grip at that position.

My Tucson's steering wheel has been crying for a cover badly.

How easy/difficult it is to do this job on a steering wheel with Airbag? Any special precautions to be taken?
