Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Imperial Leathers are expanding and they have taken up a bigger space, right opposite to the existing shop to provide better and faster service. I believe its on the first floor, opposite to where they currently are.

Shiv asked me to post this update here, their FB page is already updated with the information.

Note: I am in no way connected to IL, just posting it here for the benifit of other BHP members.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Last week got seat cover done from Imperial Inc. for my Rapid. Because of some Bitlocker issues with my machine, could not post earlier.

Amazing job done

It was almost an year after I had been there and was surprise to see Shivkumar remembering my name. I am just an another customer and not that I visit there frequently. He was not in shop and within few minutes he came-in calling my name. It was a pleasant surprise for me!

This is the 3rd car which got dressed up at Imperial and every time they have done an excellent job.

They have taken a bigger place, expecting to reduce the delivery time. Only thing I did not like is, the new place is in 1st floor... wherein sticking and installation of covers are done; and fixing of seats back in car is still done at old place.
Would be good if everything in one place / shop. Just my thought

Installed Nappa Leather. Removed company fit fabric seat covers completely and got leathers in.
Reason: Better fitting.

Found their Imperial tag (logo) a bit bigger and with light color it was standing out, hence asked not to stitch it.

Funny things: Some local person was taking LTD sticker photo of my car. Before I could approach him, he ran away. Guess he will to get a duplicate done of it.

Now let pictures do the talking. [pictures taken from mobile, some photos may not be clear]
There is a limit of 30 photos in TBHP and I have utilized them all

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Hi 500CC,

The seat covers look great. Nice job by Shiv and team. Even I enquired with them to get art leather covers for my Ecosport. However, the removal of stock covers and travel to BG Road turned the deal down, so had to settle for GSport ones from a nearby accessory shop.

Yes, I agree with you. Traveling to BG Road is very painful and I went all the way from Kodigehalli, Hebbal.

Looking the quality of work done, I felt its worth.

Off course the quality of work. More than that, Shivkumar is very accommodating and will do everything to get that perfect finish. From him you wont get the statement, 'It is like that only saar'

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

I am planning for seat covers for my i20. Went through the pics in this thread and found the work of Imperial to be good. Got in touch with Shivakumar and wanted to get the seats done coming Saturday but to my dismay they are completely blocked for next couple of weeks

Shivakumar told me that he will send across the designs through email so that I can order for the required design. I shall book the appointment for next Saturday. Will keep posted on the job done in this thread.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

After reading through many threads here, I finally decided to go to Imperial Leathers to get a genuine leather wrap done for the steering wheel of my Brio. Since the car is equipped with dual airbags, some places like Stanley wanted me to remove the component and give them just the steering wheel to which they would fit it when I went to them two years ago and due to a paucity of time and minimal driving, I decided to just drop the idea for a while.

Since I have been driving it extensively since the past few months and felt the need to have a genuine leather grip wrapped around the chunky steering wheel.

I tried an option on Ebay but the quality was so bad that I asked for and got a refund from the seller. Tried a few local shops in and around the city but didn't find a good one. Finally,I browsed through this thread and decided to go ahead with Imperial Leathers after talking to Shivkumar. Took the car over last evening and selected black genuine leather to compliment the interiors of the car. He cut the pieces from a template, sew them together taking special care not to ruin the finish of the edges and fitted it on the steering wheel with great attention to detail. The finish is close to OEM standard and for someone like me who pays close attention to detail, I was very impressed with the quality of his work and the price. I plan to take my old Alto and get one for that as well. Below are a few pictures.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

The work seem have perfection. Before i consider imperial for my Verna, i wanted to know if they can help me fix the lack of under thigh support of the rear seats? May be, they need to add some extra cushion. Suggestions?

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Well, finally took the plunge and got new seat covers for my Lancer :-) The old PVC cover for the driver's seat had got torn/stitch came off after 10+ years, and I thought to finally get new covers that was on and off for 2+ years.

Went for PU option from Imperial, with genuine leather for steering and gear knob. Imperial did a fabulous job, and also accomodated my requests / suggestions (like using nets for back pocket, and then using net from my old covers which were better built and sturdier than the stuff Shiv had available).

Let the pictures show the end result :-)

Only small thing is that I forgot to ask for a little bit of under-thigh additional support on the low slung rear seats ...
